I lost 70 lbs in the last year through illness. I was morbidly obese. I am still overweight, but not nearly so.
My problem is that I had some surgery, lost all that weight without excercise and now I have a saggy pouch like a kangaroo. My tummy is the only part of me that still looks fat. I can not afford cosmetic surgery as I am on medical pension, so I need alternative advice.
Thank-you.

I walk everyday and do sit ups, but this does not seem to affect this area.

When surgeons need extra skin for a patient they usually implant a balloon under an otherwise normal skin. Eventually though as the balloon continues to be inflated day by day the skin in that area of the balloon continues to stretch.

This is similar to what occurs as someone becomes larger than intended. The skin stretches.

The only way I am aware of to get rid of that excess skin is through surgery.

Sorry if that's discouraging. But congratulations on losing so much weight. Hopefully I can manage to lose some myself.

Do toning and firming exercises and drink plenty of water. Water increases the skin's elasticity...drink plenty of it.A friend of mine had bypass surgery and she did pilates which helped her a lot.

If you are able to do them, crunches is really your best option though for your tummy. Start small with just 5 or 10 or how ever many you can do. The next week add a few more to what you were doing, keep increasing the number weekly. I heard that Anna Nicole started with 2 and now does about 300 per day. I don't know about her, but I know that it works for others.

Good luck!

P.S.
There is a myth that says only surgery can make your skin tone and firm...a myth, proposed by a generation catered by plastic surgeons. This myth generates business for the industry, don't believe it. Granted, for a PERFECTly flat tummy...you "may" have to resort to that, ESPECIALLY if you are not willing to drink water and do the appropriate toning/firming excercises. But, I think you were referring to losing the extra "flab" that results from weight loss and not to having the body of a super model. If so, you should be fine with those exercises...keep your money. Don't buy the plastic surgeon's wife a new wardrobe when you will need the money to buy your own.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
