LISTEN TO ME! Chorizo is a cured sausage, and does NOT need to be cooked if it is spanish. You can also buy a mexican type of chorizo but this DOES need to be cooked. We eat chorizo every single week in our house, as it is, and also cooked, which brings out the lovley parika flavour.No-one has died yet of eating it either way, so do as you please.I always remove the skin, it make it easier to crumble up and tastes better without it, but it wont hurt if you do eat it. This should stop the above confusion of 'yes's and 'no's!

The Portuguese version chorico don´t need cooking but I would certainly recommend removing the skin before eating. They are also very tasty grilled, in Portugal they are placed in a terra cota dish supported by bars also of the same material and alcohol is poured in the space below and ignited; they are cooked when the alcohol flames are exhausted.

chorizo is a type of salami which doesn't have to be cooked. Sometimes it is cooked in cider which is very nice. The only problem is that I think lots of types of spanish sausages are wrongly called chorizo, so read the instructions in case it is actually a raw sausage instead of a cured salami.

Yes, I would cook the sausage. It is best cooked in a pan or grill until it is crisp on the outside (make sure it is properly cooked).

Hope this helped!

Depends on if it is fresh or cured. Since it is typically a spanish dish, look for the word Fresco. This would mean it was fresh, and needed to be cooked. The "paper" typically used isn't paper as such, and can be consumed, but the texture will probably be better without it.

yes you need to cook it, the way I do is , remove the skin, or squish it out into a frying pan, cook for a bit than add some eggs, scramble all together till the egg is set, roll on tortillas add some mayo, or hot sauce, Delicious, enjoy!
