It is my understanding that they fled to egypt. I do not recall any mention of where John the Baptist's folks may have gone but given the close personal relationship between the mom's of both I would assume they traveled together. Since it was a covert type of 'black ops' mission I would suspect that no record of it would be found in any Roman texts or legal documents much the same way that modern covert operations are not publicized. Also, the towns and villages affected were populated by folks who were illiterate so the only place I would look for collaborating documentation of this event would be the writings of Jewish Scribes who either witnessed it or heard the accounts of those who witnessed it. The Bible is a select collection of some of those Scribes' texts so there may also other texts which give an account. If so, I am not aware of them. Perhaps in some of the Gnostic Gospel accounts not included in the catholic canon but I have not read them all and some are partially lost.

Unfortunately, no it is not. Or if it is, the Catholics have the transcripts locked away in a vault somewhere and aren't about to let them out for the general public because then their world and how they have bastardized Christianity would come crumbling down around them.
But Mary and Joseph were told by an angel of the Lord to hide in the wilderness (they went to Egypt) so Herod could not find him. This occurred after the wisemen asked him where they could find Jesus. Herod told the wise men to come tell him where he could find this child so he could worship him too, when his real intent was to kill him. But the wise men went home a differnt way and didn't go back to see him.

Well, I can give you no specific information on what happened to John during that time and how he escaped, might depend on where he and his parents lived.
Fact is, that I saw a documentation about Herod on secular TV, which showed that a mass grave has been found in Palestine with about 200 skeletons of male babies and children up to the age of about two years.

This is one of those loop holes in the bible where there are unanswered questions. According to some legends that I have heard, John the Baptist was living in another part of Galilee at the time. The order to kill all the infants was issued for the area around Bethlehem only. According to the Bible, Joseph received a prophetic dream to flee into Egypt with Jesus which is what he did with Mary and Jesus just before the slaughter. In reality there is no historical record of this ever happening. Herod the Great was careful with his record keeping, and something like that does not appear anywhere. But considering how bloodthirsty he was in real life, it was easy to believe that he did order such a thing.
I will ring your doorbell and run away!!!

Joseph was instructed to take his family to Egypt just before this occurred. I also believe that since they were a poor family, they used the money from the "kings" from the East that came to worship Jesus.
One of the reasons that we do not have a lot of written history of this is that in actually involved a small number of infants as this area did not have a large population and there would not have been a large number of babies two years and under.
Also, remember then as now, there was a lot less public out cry if they only ones being killed are...male.

he went to egypt with his parents for a short period of time as directed by angles to joseph in a dream. and tehre is documentation about a mass killing of children under the age of two during lord herods term (he was not a king thus the reason he wnted to kill jesus, jesus was the supossed true king of the jews and herod didnt want to lose his seat of power) but its not reliable because it only shows up in personal journals and not that many

History proves such an event Never took place. There was no murder of hundreds of babies. Many of the events given in the so called nt Never took place. Pilate never order the execution of anyone by that name or on that date. The Temple veil was never torn. Pilate Never freed a prisoner. There were 3 men Ever executed on the eve of Passover none line up with the reign of Pilate. Jannaeus executed HaNotzri in 76 BCE, Marcellus executed Pendera in 67 CE and Stada was executed in 78 CE which was After the destruction of the Temple. jesus IF he ever existed did not do what Messiah was to have done as Messiah, nor did he qualify as Messiah as messiah was to have 2 very human parents. 1) JESUS DID NOT FULFILL THE MESSIANIC PROPHECIES What is the Messiah supposed to accomplish? The Bible says that he will: A. Build the Third Temple (Ezekiel 37:26-28). B. Gather all Jews back to the Land of Israel (Isaiah 43:5-6). C. Usher in an era of world peace, and end all hatred, oppression, suffering and disease. As it says: "Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall man learn war anymore." (Isaiah 2:4) D. Spread universal knowledge of the God of Israel, which will unite humanity as one. As it says: "God will be King over all the world -- on that day, God will be One and His Name will be One" (Zechariah 14:9).

Joseph and Mary went to Egypt because they were warned by an Angle.
John lived in another village.
I thought some one had told of that info before, but I do not remember where it is.
