No. She's just scenting her breath to attract rabbits so she can eat them.

Cats stomach are made for digesting meat primarily. It might be a sign if there is a sudden change in her appetite. Have you asked the vet about this problem? I would ask the vet if she has completely switched to eating vegetables - then again, if carrots are just her favourite snack - there could be nothing wrong. My brothers cat loves green beans... Have you switched the cats food? It might not be filling enough for the cat. I gave my cat the wrong type of cat food and it turned out that the cat wasnt feeling full and kept eating and ultimately threw it up in the end. I would ask a vet.

Well, if nothing else I've certainly had a good laugh with the answers! My kitten also likes to share my banana at breakfast time. Caught her eating some broccoli t'other day that was waiting to be cooked. She also enjoyed some peas and carrots out of a mince stew. If we are eating it, then to her it must be good, so meal times means not just the two of us but the table set for three!!

Some domestic cats are known to like vegetables. I had a cat who loved corn, for instance.

There's no harm in having some vegetables but cats need a very high protein diet and require at least 80% of it to be meat.

So your kitty is fine, just don't encourage it too much. If you want, you could buy it some wheatgrass which has many health benefits. They love to chew on it.

Hmm ... the answer about her scenting her breath to attract rabbits was wonderful!

Mine do this too ... Bumble lies in wait by the sink while I'm peeling them & when my back is turned generally makes off with one. The others though just like to sink their teeth into them ... carrots & sweetpotato .... if I leave them lying around they end up being impaled with tiny little holes ... ick.

They also like chewing bananas... wonderful to imagine that they might actually be planning a spot of monkey hunting ....

Cats do eat veg, we had one loved mushrooms, if she has a craving for carrots it means she is low in some vitamins. Cats eat some grass and plants to get vitamins and minerals, she is just going for carrots.

I think it's normal, but do try to balance his/her food. My cats like to eat plant, sniff and bite few types of vegetable. I had dog that live for 16 years, frequently ate vegetable soup and rice. My best friend's dog also loves carrot...

lol... I had a cat for 13 years and her favorite thing was Campbell's vegetable soup! Vet said it was fine!

She would also lick A5-35 off my shins and calfs calves when Id come home from jogging. Shed attack me, grab me and lick it off. I had to pry her off! She'd lick and act all silly after, rolling around like she was in heat. ( she was spayed ) Now that is REALLY bad for cats.... Dont try it :o)
