at what age should i stop helping in the toilet?

my little girl can go to the toilet and do wee's with no help but after she has done a poo i help her wipe her bottom .she is 3 and a half years old is this normal,?

Well most people will say no let her do it her self, but me I'm going to say yes it's alright because sometimes at that age they don't fully wipe there bum and if you don't go and help they could become sore. My child is four years old i let him wipe his own bum but i will all ways check just in case, but just the other day i went and brought bottom wipes for kids they are just like wet wipes but they are flush-able, he is wiping his bum really good now. Try them, you get them from any supermarket

My son is 3 1/2 and I help him wipe after #2 at home but he does it himself at school (with a resulting trail everytime). Nasty but he's trying. He still doesn't get that he needs to keep wiping. we're working on it.

Don't worry about it. I doubt you will be helping her when she is 13. Might I suggest that you allow her to try to wipe herself (those disposable wipes are great) and then you clean her up if she needs it. I'd praise her and let her know she's becoming such a big girl. Then eventually she will have it and you'll be teaching her something else.

I think you should start letting her wipe herself. I think that was around the age I stopped wiping my daughter

My daughter is just shy of 5 and I still wipe her. I plan to let her go it alone after he birthday and see how she does.

My boy is nearly 5 and I STILL have to wipe his bum. Its so frustrating. I dont know how to help you cause I need advice too.
