No way. I won't date anyone my own age let alone 10 years older! I only date women who are much younger. They are better looking, physically fit, active, fun, and more relaxed than woman my age. As far as being more or less accomplished career wise, I don't think that matters as long as at least one of you can provide you both with a comfortable life.

I did actually marry a man who was 10 years older than me. I just don't get what's the point in deciding according to the age or the career? It's a matter of love! When you fall in love you don't care about the age/career, do you?

Yes..........just maybe, the man is quite happy with his accomplishments, or doingness in life. Sounds a bit like it's your standards being put in his universe. When I married my second wife she made more money than me. Neither of us had a problem with that. I later moved up in the income earned department and she harbored some jealousy. At least she was able to tell me about it and we worked through it...funny, life is.
There is one difference here, I don't think I would marry a woman 10 years older than me...well, you never know, that could change.

I never dated any body for there job/ status in life. Seems kinda shallow to date someone for that reason. I don't worry about age as much as i think is this person nut's some kinda way or are they sensible. You know' Got something going on between there ears.

You could go on a date with him and find out more, but it's likely that you won't relate on issues that are important to you. It's obviously important to you to do well in your career and you've put work into that, but he is clearly not motivated that way and I think you'll get frustrated with him sooner or later.

more importantly love is love. my cousin, who is male, married a woman who is 12 years older than him. they are both so happy. they are like happy with eachother all the time.
a friend of mine at work is dating an older woman also. i think she is 8 years older. they get along great. i wouldn't think to much about the careers, only about how you two feel about eachother. good luck:)

That depends on how accomplished I am in my own career. I wouldn't expect anything of someone else that I haven't established in my own life. Age would not be the factor for me

it depends if he is actively working toward some goals and the circumstances that makes him not yet fully accomplished
if his reason sound good to you then go for it

Yes I would. But, I don't think you should. Why? Because you asked the question. Subconsciously, it is important to you that who you date is acomplished in their career
