all insurance companies have a separate money pot for this kind of claim. They should pay out as long as you can convince them that its genuine (IE witness statement)

hey...

if you have the details of the other driver you could claim against that person...

if you have no details then you would have to claim against your own insurance...you'd have to have full comp to make this claim which depending on your policy would prob go against you in the future...in a lot of cases (depending on the amoun t of damage) it is best to go to a garage and get the work priced up for example:

if its just a scuff or scratch - minor body damage or light - get it done yourself...

also if it is minor damage the insurance company wont rush in getting in fixed you co uld be waiting for a few weeks

If the driver was insured fully comprehensive they would pay out, you would be liable to pay any access. You would also loose your no claims bonus unless thats insured as well.

Good answers on here. As an addition, I'd report it to the police anyway, it's a "hit and run" which is illegal, and you'd have a report number to help the insurers fill their forms.

I think if they have fully comp then they could claim on their own insurance but it would also mean they lose their no claims bonus. I think ...
Unless you have the numberplate of the other car and a withness and then you could possibly report it.

If you have comprehensive cover, yes. Also, if you have uninsured motorist cover, it will cover hit-and-run damages.

If you only have TPO or TPF&T you are out of luck.
