Don't consume enough alcohol to CAUSE a hang over!

If you can't control that urge, then try this. Your brain is dehydrated! Throw up everything on your stomach, then...Drink Gatorade, take 2 ibuprofen, wait 30 minutes then start drinking water. Drink at least 32 ounces. Do not drink anything with caffeine unless you drink high amounts of caffeine on a regular basis. (By the way, giving a drunk coffee DOES NOT sober it up. You just end up with a wide awake drunk!)

After a couple of hours, start eating. Bland is not always best, something spicy and hot usually works great. Mexican food is perfect. The bread group absorbs any alcohol still roaming around and the hot sauce gives your stomach something to complain about besides nausea!

Works for my son every time! At least when he isn't home - then I prefer to serve runny eggs early in the morning with a rousing jangle of pan lids bashed together to wake him up! Ain't tough love great?!!!!

Gallons of Iced water. Alcohol causes severe dehydration. This is when you have a hangover and drink lots of water, you very rarely need to go to the toilet. The water is helping to rid your body and kidneys of the toxins that the alcohol contains, and replace the fluid caused by the dehydration.

In the past, I have favoured *Slush Puppie* or similar ice based drink, but mostly I stick to iced water.

It's also worth trying to drink about a pint of iced water before you go to bed. This will help with the dehydrating effects of the alcohol.

Avoid coffee/coke or anything which contains caffine, this will only make you feel worse. Fizzy drinks are best avoided too. If you don't like plain water, try flavoured water or add a drop of squash.

Hope this helps.

Large amounts of liquid (water being the best) - it helps flush out the poisons and re-hydrates the system. Best time to take it is just before you go to bed though - when you get back from the pub drink a couple of pints of water.

Mind you, when I was younger, a "full English" breakfast sorted me out quite well.

this sounds really gross but it works, i once had the mother of all hangovers, thought i was dying!! Decided to try the hair of the dog, went to the pub with my then husband, tried a glass of white wine, which is what i normally drink, couldnt drink it, feeling really bad by now, landlord said try this, put a small glass in front of me with a measure of port and a measure of brandy in it mixed, took a sip, yuck! he said just keep sipping at it till its gone, so i did and within half an hour felt brilliant! no hangover, starving and ready for more!! (it works)!!!

Obviously lots of water and an orange lucozade, or if you want the hair of the dog version a bloody mary with lots of tabasco and worcestershire sauce!

I'v heard coconut milk from the middle of the coconut is meant to be good for hangovers. It doesn't taste too good though.

Fry up at t greasy spoon. A bit of fresh air, lots of tea and toast and then loads of food to settle your stomach. And then home for a doze...

Word of advice, dont mix wine and beer..!
