Don't cook it upside down, you'll ruin it. Just put in the tray like a chicken and cook away for 20 mins per pound at 180 degrees xxx

LOL, you do that to a turkey, not a goose.
Goose have a thick fatty skin and dark meat. The breast meat doesn't need to collect more fat than it already has.
Just raise the back off of the roasting pan to prevent it from swimming in fat.
The real best way is the chinese BBQ. They hang the goose head up & tail down inside a partial open top drum with a slow charcoal fire inside. Takes about 3 hours to slow roast but the result is worth it. Otherwise, rotisserie is the utilmate way for any bird.

YES I EVEN COOK THE TURKEY UPSIDE DOWN. IT HELPS TO KEEP IT MOIST, JUST TURN IT UP THE RIGHT WAY TO BROWN, ABOUT THIRTY TO FORTY MINUTE'S BEFORE THE END OF THE COOKING TIME. ALSO COOK IT ON A WIRE RACK AS IT IS VERY GREASY. THE GOOSE FAT IS GREAT FOR THE ROAST POTATOES.

yes, but on a rack and cover with foil, inject it with a good amount of red wine(I mean alot) this will aid in the extraction of alot of the grease,(goose is a very greasy bird) give it a try you can also cook turkeys this way(not with the wine though) it will aid in keeping the white meat from drying out, plus stuff that big bird with a small heavy smoked ham, oh my it is heaven give it a try you will love it.

Yes, turn it upside down! That's how I cook my turkey and chicken and it's never, ever dried out. In fact, I've been converting people to that way of cooking once they taste how juicy it is.

Yes, because it is a very fatty bord, this way the juices and extra fat will run through the breast making it more tastier. Just turn the bird upright for the last 15 minutes to brown the breast.

Yes, it keeps the breast meat moist! oh, and use a meat rack, so its not sitting in the fat! If you want to brown it then turn breast side up for last 20-25 mins!

Yes it is so that the juices seep down into the breast to keep it moist. Can I come to dinner?
