NO! it won't take over miniDV, HDV may but it will take a long time. and don't go with harddrive cams.

No - for all the reasons stated. Plus DV is much easier to edit. The only way to edit the Mini DVD is to rip it to disk, edit and reburn with loss of quality at each stage.

Even the new HD Camcorders and Handicams are sticking with DV tapes for the time being.

Cannot be. Because DVD camcorder still not as sharp and clear as DV tapes, especially when you want to edit footage using software.

NO -
Quality of DV is superiour then DVD but DVD is more handy and portable.
