The problem with me is that, whenever i go to work, i dont like socialising with anyone but only sit on my computer and start working. Other coworkers look at me like i am weird but i cant help it, for me work is work and i dont like talking to people. Am i the weird one. Is anyone like me in this world?

Dont let those people bother you. Alot of people make small talk at work and it is meaningless but for some reason some people need that. If you dont then cool, youre there to work. Go home and talk to people you would rather talk to.

Just do your thing man, if work is work, that's cool, I've had jobs where I thought the office people were ********, and I just did my work, other places I've been social (especially with the bosses secretary at the Christmas party wink wink), Just do ya thing, be pleasant, say hello, bring in donuts once in a while, I HATE when others gang up on 1 person in the office, I always get up an leave when the B.S. starts, you're fine !

I am the same way. I have learned that there is more to work than just "work" and that some socializing is good, and beneficial. It can be challenging and uncomfortable, but you do benefit from that challenge. Learn to work hard and have some socialization also. You sound like a hard worker and that is good. they may be looking at you weird because they are wishing that you wouild connect with them.

I wouldn't say that you are part of "the norm," but that is different from "being normal." You aren't weird; you just realize and demonstrate the difference between work and play.
I would certainly appreciate having co-workers that are sincere about doing their job and who understand that the workplace is NOT a social gathering spot.

You are very normal. I am the same way. We both seem more like work-a-holics. There is nothing wrong with that. That does not make you abnormal or anti-social. You are not alone, and you are not weird. You do not need to worry.

first off, no one's normal. that would be a person who is in the exact 50th percentile for every imaginable trait... and that would be insane.

i'm like that actually. i waited tables for 6 years and was very friendly and talkative to customers but not co-workers. and i never regretted it because of all the stupid drama going on all the time. what a waste of time...

i have a lot of friends, they're just not my co-workers.

You are normal and not weird. You're just an introvert personality. However, it is no good to be just by yourself. You may need help from your co worker one day..

i believe im normal so that means u are too

if u are new or relatively new in the office, ppl tend to exchange smiles with u rather than have the initiative to talk to u
