I am assuming you are talking about for the face. If you have slight breakouts then use a medicated cleanser to wash your face before be until cleared up. Do not use it all of the time as it is too harsh an will dry your skin out. In the mornings use a cleanser that has no perfumes or dyes. Try and find Cetaphil at a drug store. If you have Acne then the only thing that will help if going to see a Dermatologist. You will probably need a topical antibiotic.

Acne is a disease, therefore go see a dermatologist. It takes 3 weeks for a pimple to appear, so the doctor can give you a prescription for one of the cyclines - tetracycline, minocycline, or doxycycline. These are simply antibiotics which help in lowering the amount of bacteria which cause acne. There are many topical lotions available, but a dermatologist should be consulted first; Klaron lotion requires a prescription too. You should avoid HOT (spicy) foods, like tabasco sauce, and hot peppers, these can agravate the condition; also avoid drinking really HOT items - hot soup, hot tea, hot coffee, allow them to really cool down before consuming. You can also purchase a Buf-Puf gentle facial cleanser, and use a mild soap like Purpose. One more thing, you shouldn't sweat a lot, this can also agravate the condition by clogging the pores.

Pimples can be caused by hormones, stress, dietary, etc.
Sleeping on a regular schedule (in bed by 10-11pm) always helps.

In terms of products, I'm not a huge fan of most over the counter products because they are too abrasive.

My favorite has been Mario Badescu. www.mariobadescu.com
You can call them and get personal advice over the phone or visit their place in NYC. They have an amazing product called drying lotion which makes pimples magically disappear.

You can reduce the outbreak of pimples by applying small amounts of Tetronoin on areas which is most likely to have one.

If you want, you may want to "steam" your face by exposing your face to hot water for 5-10 minutes.

different things work for different people. proactive didn`t work for me, neither did clean&clear microbead acne wash, benzoyl peroxide and salicil acid spot treatments. and clearisil acne wash. i lost hope in everything because non of these things worked. one day, my mom put some sticky goopy stuff on my face. i hated the way it felt on my face. i left it on for a couple of hours, and washed it off. i did that for about a week, and my face was so much clearer. i stopped using after a while, and my face wasn't bad. wen it started again, i did the thing all over agen untill i saw results. heres wat u do :

mix honey, milk and cinnamon together. it should be darkish redish brownish and reely sticky. leeve it on ure face for a couple of hours, and then wash it off.

spots are usually caused by hormones called androgen's. there's nothing you can do to stop that it causes excess oil to be secreted. avoid touching your face, cleanse tone and moisturize twice a day. use a mask twice a week and exfoliate gently 3-4 ti meas a week. lots of still water fresh fruit and veg!!!
