US News magazine has a list of the top 200 prisons. You can get a free "trial" subscription from their website.
They have separate rankings for federal and state or regional prisons, and "tiers" within each type of prison.
They produced this survey in response to popular demand. After all, with the way the drug laws are enforced, more young people in some groups go to prison than go to college!

Whatever makes you think any prison is "best"? They all suck! They all have guards and some dudes looking to loosen your sphincter muscles the minute you bend over to pick up the bar of soap from the floor of the shower!
The "best" prison for a MAN to be in would be in a woman's prison!

I believe when Martha Stewart went to prison she chose the best location from the many available to her because of all her residences... so probably where she went... I think it was in Conneticut.

It is silly to even ask such a question, prison is prison. You can get beat up, raped, or even killed at any time.

in the US......lompoc California federal prison......just about any prison in canada....france.....all third world prisons would suck
