dehbee...how can I take him the vet when I have zero funds? I just paid the rent. Of course I would take him if I could.

I'll call the vet tomorrow and find out the minimum payment. I really have nothing to put down right now.

Of course I'll send prayers your way.
Just because someone doesn't have a lot of money that in no way makes them an irresponsible owner..as one heartless person posted.
Please call your Vet, or several if you have to and explain that your cat is ill and that you just do not have the funds at this time to pay for treatment.
Most Vets will ask for something down and will work out a payment plan for you.
I hope all turns out well for you and kitty.

Try to keep the wound open and draining. You can use warm compresses and 1/2 strength hydrgen peroxide to clean the wound at least 3 times a day. Also apply triple antibiotic ointment to the wound. Does your kitty have a fever? Make sure he/she gets plenty to drink. Cats get dehydrated really quick. No milk though. Try putting the juice from a can of tuna in the water. They usually like that. And get the poor kitty to a vet. They can and frequently do die from an abcess like this. Good luck!

Please find a vet and ask if you can work out payments for getting your cat treatment. Infections usually don't go away by themselves. You may be able to get someone to help you pay the bill. These helpless creatures need us to take care of them. I hope you will get help for your cat.

Me and Fauna send our best wishes to you and Puck. Most vets do offer a payment plan so I would call local vets and ask them. Maybe you can find one in the area who will treat your loved pet. In the meantime, while his wound is trying to heal, please don't let him outside. It could get worse, he could get into another fight, etc. Good luck!

and what is praying going to do? ABSOLUTLY NOTHING! except prolong your cats suffering and make it closer to dieing. the cat needs to go to the vet for some antibiotics. if you can't afford to take care of your cat then give it up for adoption at a no kill shelter.
I would rather go with out food for a week than to have my cats deny my cat the medical care that they need.
Poor kitty, I feel so bad for it having an irresponciable owner.
