You cannot twist the Bible, people read into it what they want to hear or see. They are blinded no different than any other religion. The issue is being stubborn, jealous, hateful, envious, desiring you neighbors things or wife because you are not happy with what God gave you in life, so you want to subjegate your brother into your will to show God you are better than him. In the Bible Satan offered Jesus control over all the powers of this world in exchange for Jesus to worship Satan. Jesus didn't argue about was that power his or not but said get behind me. This means Satan is controling Bush and his decisions just as Pilot tried to tell Jesus he could change things but he could not, at the trial of Jesus. So the leaders of the world are all working under Satan's control to bring more death, but the Bible teaches God will be fed up some day soon and destroy America because of these things we do for the love of money. As it was in days of Noah; And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Genesis 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
The hand writting is on the walls, we are all just waiting for it to happen. God will destroy america sooner than most think

The bible has been twisted and changed over the time since it was written people have use it push their views on everyone which no wants to really here. All western based religons change it for their own gain like the christain right who think that ban all adult enterainment and other denominations they wont get rid of all the bad elements like pedophile preists who just move to another church with in the system

i'm not sure i can tell you why people twist the Bible for their personal purposes. But i can tell you, that you bring up a valuable thing to consider. How important it is for people to know God's word and study it in its context.
The Scriptures tell us a lot about being deceived by false doctrine, and how people will be lead astray. It talks about how people do what is right in their own eyes, and how minds and hearts are darkened as man chooses to follow their own ways instead of God's.
I can't tell you why- but just wanted to recognize your point that the Bible is to be studied and understood based on the way that God meant it- not based on what's convenient for man.

I think some people are more passionate about thier beliefs in others and tend to feel the need to "convert" others to thier way of thinking in order to justify thier own feelings. I have seen this quite a bit on this forum, and it's nice to come here to learn and discuss other religions and such, but just because one person may have a particular view doesn't mean it's either right or wrong. Differences set us apart, but versatility makes us unique.

why not? The authors of the Bible(library) did it with the Injeel (the Gospel) of Jesus (peace be upon him). Perhaps you should ask Paul (Saul) why he invented the concept of Trinity. On the serious note, Jesus did not call the people to worship him, he called the people to worship the one true God, and this can even be seen in the words attributed to Jesus in the Bible.Jesus says if you want to have everlasting life, follow the commandments. Paul says no, if you want to have eternal life believe that Jesus died for your sins and believe that he is to be worshipped. So dear questioner it is the very authors of the Bible and inventors of Trinity who opened doors to twisting the meanings of the Bible, since they twisted the teachings of Jesus.

People twist everything around to assert their personal opinions. Its not confined to the bible but it goes on in every facet of life with anything and everything.

God always is up for a good war with lots of bloodshed, just read Exodus and Joshua. God really knew how to wage a good war too. Kill everybody except for the virgin girls. (They are for raping)
The Bible is a total record of atrocity piled on atrocity and God should be on trial for war crimes. God makes Hitler, Stalin, Milosevic and Saddam look like a bunch of sundayschool kids skipping classes.

Because all fundies, regardless of the religion they claim to follow, are just hate filled fools. However they need to try and justify that hate in this modern world, and so use religion to do so.
