I've had better friends than Jesus who talked me out of my demise as a confused teenager on the brink of suicide I'm glad Jesus wasn't there. He could have forgiven the fool and saved his life so don't give me a lot of baloney that denies the truth! why are believers so cruel hearted and unforgiving . was his heart made of sh!t and splinters?

It was supposedly "God's plan" for Jesus to be hung on the cross, and for Judas to be the one who betrayed him. Sounds like Judas got the short end of the stick on this one, because it was his predetermined path to betray the supposed "Savior" of mankind.

The last time I checked (which was very early this a.m.), people in Jesus' time had free will, just as do we. If He impinged on Judas' free will, He would have been breaking His Own law. He gave Judas the choices. Judas heard everything the other disciples did. It was then his right to do whatever he wanted with that information. He CHOSE to sell it for, coincidentally, enough money to buy him burial in the local boot hill.

You have the information. Now all you need to do is decide how YOU will use it.

P.S.
The Bible never validates the theory that Judas might have been a childhood friend. Judas' own choices would suggest that if he was, he wasn't a very GOOD friend!

God bless your journey for truth.

Judas and Christ Jesus were not childhood buddies. Satan used Judas to betray Jesus and deliver Him to His enemies. Jesus allowed this to happen to fulfill the prophesy. Judas sold Jesus out for 30 pieces of silver. When Judas saw that Jesus was condemned to die on the cross, he threw the silver down and hanged himself. Jesus was too busy being scourged and beaten to talk Judas out of hanging himself. The story of the cross is not about Judas. It is about a God so great and loving that He was willing to take the punishment that we as sinners deserve. Even Judas knew that Jesus was innocent and did not deserve to be beaten and crucified. Jesus did it because it was the only way to reconcile (us) sinners with God. I am sorry for your personal pain. There were times in my past when I too was suicidal. Jesus absolutely saved me. He can save you too.

"Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins."

Johnny is right...Judas knew the consequences for his choices and chose to do as he did.....He knew the message of Jesus he was one of the followers.....Jesus didn't want him to end up as he did....that was his choice.
