I think it's a good idea to invest in some new pans!
Not sure where you are, but i was watching a show the other night (in Australia) called "What's good For You" & it showed that it is best to buy new pots & pans if your teflon coating comes off or becomes scratched.... but who knows. Its a good excuse to get some new ones anyway!
Good Luck :O)

Teflon is the one you should worry most about it would seem, next to alluminum. Don't cook in this pan, throw it out, and stop using metal on nonstick pans, if something is stuck soak and wipe with a soft cloth! Never clean with anything with a soft cloth, non-stick pans are for eggs and really shouldn't be used for much more.

no throw it away you shouldnt even buy those pans they do put chemicles into your food
stainless steel or cast iron skillets even copper work fine and dont kill you slowly
its almost like silicone implants arent good for women when they are leaking and not all that bad when they are not but they are still in there

Yes - just use an oil as if it were not a non-stick pan.
