there is someting called post-inflammatory hyperpgmentation which may occur after an inflammtory condition like PR.
Unfortunatelly there may be no treatment for that, but you may try (or tried) using steroid to decrease the intensity of inflammation & helps clear out the rash quicker.

Tea Tree oil mixed 1:1 with a good quality skin lotion will help kill the virus and prevent infection. If it irritates the skin, dilute it 1:2 or 1:3. Vitamin creams, especially ones with vitamin A and E are helpful in healing skin lesions.

i had this not too long ago. unfortunately the darker your skin the more likely you are to have remaining marks. im fairly white and i still have white marks from some of the spots.
