That is a WAY open question. When you ask "which is better"?
Better for safety? Size? options? pricing? fuel Economy ? Power ? handling ? Versitility ? Reliability? Dependability?
http://www.fordvehicles.com/cars/fusion/compare/details/?vehicles=19454|19969|18951|18082
If you click on the above link, it will give you a side by side comparison of all the specs of these 2 vehicles, as well as 2 others (in same type class)
I've added the Ford Fusion to this comparison because it is getting rave reviews, and also the Honda Accord ( just because the site gave me the option of 4 vehicles)
As far as reliability or dependability, I'm gonna cut & paste one of my previous answers about that:
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Since you ask specifically for reliability of cars, may i refer you to the most recent J.D. Power & assoc. study, rather than each individual "Yamster" opinion ?
"Reliability" of a vehicle is based on : How many times the vehicle is brought in to the shop for repairs or problems due to manufacturer defect or breakdown. & manufacturer warranty issues. That means repairs & recalls, covered by the manufacturer & not due to owner abuse or lack of maintenance.
The most recent study was of 2003 vehicles that had been on the road for 3 years. This study lists 37 manufacturers in order of the least problems to the most problems .
I'll list in their order :
1 Lexus
2 mercury
3 buick
4 cadillac
5 toyota
6 acura
7 honda
8 jaguar
9 bmw
10 infinity
11 lincoln
12 ford
13 oldsmobile
<<<<<<<<<
14 chrysler
15pontiac
16 subaru
17 gmc
18 mercedes-benz
19 chevrolet
20 nissan
21 mazda
22 porsche
23 hyandai
24 dodge
25 mitsubishi
26 jeep
27 volvo
28 audi
29 mini
30 isuzu
31 saturn
32 volkswagon
33 hummer
>>>>>>>>>>>>not reliable
34 kia
35 suzuki
36 saab
37 land rover
So as you can see you can get a reliable American car as well as an import... and some of the most undependable vehicles fall into 'popular' opinion. You might note that of the top 6 makes, 3 are foreign & 3 are domestic. also the #1 Lexus is made by Toyota & the #2 Mercury is made by Ford
I suggest that you look to a 'reliable' domestic & you'll get more car for the money,
for example : a newer Ford or Mercury would probably cost less than an older Toyota or Honda.
just a suggestion , but based on facts rather than 'popular opinion'
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
As you can see from this study, Toyota rates better (#5) than Nissan (#20) ........
But if you also note Ford (#12) rates much higher than Nissan
Now if you also note Mercury is #2.....for every Mercury there's a "sister" Ford. Ford Fusion=Mercury Milan...So you might also want to check out them.
SORRY FOR THE LLLLLLLLLLLLLONG ANSWER!
But your question is a very wide open one, & I believe in facts rather than oppinions.

I dont really compare Camry vs. Maxima, either Avalon vs. Maxima or Camry vs. Altima. Go for the redesigned 2007 Altima. If you want a car you don't have to worry about much maintenence on, go for the 2007 Camry. The 07 Altima is more stylish in my opinion.

The Maxima is indeed a beautiful car (especially if you get it fully loaded) and it's a bit pricier than the Camry. However, I'm leaning towards the Camry only because they make a hybrid model.

not to sound sexist but the camry is the way to go for you not becuase your a woman, bu you will incurr alot less problems.
the head lights on the maximas are on one of the top list of things stolen, those cars are very high in maintenance, and eventhough it is a sexy car, it might feel a bit too manly for you.
then again i dont know you or your style.
the camry is a sexy stylish, and cheaper way to make the same statement with less problems, nothing to be wiery of being stolen, has about the same power, and can be alot less money come time for maintenance, unless u get the top class, which is basically a lexus with a toyota symbol.

The Camry will have better resale value when you are ready to sell it. Definitely a more popular car.
