I'd find out what shows are on Broadway and try to see one or two. (I saw my first shows there and now I love the theater!)

Definetly fo to a few plays. Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, and Wicked are really good. The Hudson Bay boatline cruise is nice because it takes you all around the bouroghs and you see the Washington bridge, the oldest lighthouse, etc.
The Statue of Liberty and the Empire State are worth seeing nad the viwes are amazing. The UN building pretty interesting too and its right across from the Trump Towers.
Look for the street venders because they sell purses and accessories for $5

Hit Union Square. Get breakfast at May Rose. Shop around and hit ABC - they have everything from cloths to jewelry and furnature. Than have a hot chocolate at City Bakery.
If you like French Bistro - hit Pastis in the meat packing district or Bathazar in Nola. Both are fab!

Try lots of ethnic food that you may not have where you live. Many great restaurants from all countries on ninth avenue in the 40's and 50's. If you never had Korean food, go to 32nd street between 5th ave. and Broadway and PIG OUT!!
