I'm flying from California to JFK on JetBlue and then about 12 hours later flying from Newark to Germany on Continental. My sister (travel buddy) and I were thinking of spending a few hours in Manhattan during our layover and are wanting to know if there is anywhere in the city where we could check our luggage while taking in the sites. Any suggestions?

+ There were lockers at the train station. You might call and ask Newark what they have. I recently checked luggage on Spirit airlines 6 hours before my flight. They were all there when I arrived at my final destination so that worked. 12 is a bit longer so you might have to ask first for options.
GOOD LUCK

Definitely check with the airline and see if you can check your baggage in before you leave the airport. That is going to be the best option! It will be easier to travel into the city without your bags.

There are no storage lockers at any of the train stations anymore. You might be able to find a hotel that will let you keep your bags there without being a guest, but that is not a guarantee!

if i am not mistaken you may not leave your luggage and leave the airport for security reasons , otherwise it would be a mad house ; usually your luggage to overseas flights are forwarded straight to the final country of destination .......
so you should not have a luggage problem ?
when you check while leaving from California ? they send your luggage on to the final destination ...Germany

i travel the other way around and never had to carrier my luggage until the first international border entry ........
ask your travel agent to be sure ?..............
and do know that 12 hours for visiting is not much , you have to think of any misshaps ?
have a good trip ))

Ahh, such are the inconvenient challenges of the privileged. For one to require a bag to carry around, one must have possessions. Possessions require currency to procure and currency is earned through a job. Alas for this Tondo Boy. I have none of the above constraints. Hooooray for me..... I think.
