it lowers blood pressure and i think if you ever need blood they give you a discount at the hospital on your bill but if you keep on doing it you might get scar tissue.

The big advantage in donating blood is for the person who receives your donation. The blood bank has a good rule for how often you can donate. Your body will not miss the blood and it will be replenished in a day or two. Its a good thing to do.

Every couple of months you're getting new blood cells anyway so donating is fine, plus if you donate plasma you can get $ an added bonus to humanity. But you should space out your donations (as in not all 3 in a week or something) so your body has time to recover.

i am an avid blood donor. and no, there are no problems with donating blood. as long as you wait long enough for your body to recooperate. which, if you are donating with the red cross, they keep track of your donations and you can only donate so often anyways.
The upside to donating is - knowing your contribution is helping someone in need., feeling a sense of self-worth .-doing a service to fellow man.-and knowing that you are a caring person. god bless you for being a donor:)

Everyone knows blood is literally a lifesaver for those who’ve been in an accident or need it to help survive treatments and operations. But for some, whose illness has no cure and that last battle they face just can’t be won, a blood transfusion can help to improve their quality of life during their final months, weeks or even days.

Karen Clarke, a Community Nurse who gives transfusions to the terminally ill in their own homes, says, "These vital transfusions give patients a better quality of life. It gives them the energy and ability to enjoy this precious, final time with their families."

But this time is often a gift that only blood can provide. In some serious accidents, its use can mean that a critically ill patient can stay alive long enough for their loved ones to reach the hospital to see them, one last time. Priceless.

I am an avid blood donor and have never had a problem. The advantage is the thought that you may have been the one to save a persons life. That is one thought that I cherish.
