UNFORTUNATELY THESE ARCHAIC VIEWS STEM FROM DOUBLE STANDARD IDEAS THAT WERE CREATED LONG AGO BEFORE THE CONCEPT OF SEXUAL EQUALITY EVER EXISTED. THIS HYPOCRISY STILL EXISTS THOUGH. GIRLS ARE VIEWED AS LOOSE, SLUTS,WHORES OR PROMISCUOUS IF THEY HAVE SEX BEFORE A CERTAIN AGE. AND ON THE OTHER HAND BOYS ARE VIEWED AS COOL, STUDS, PLAYERS AND PIMPS. WHATEVER THE LANGUAGE IS FOR THE DAY THE UNFAIR COMPARISONS ARE STILL MADE TODAY. DESPITE ALL THE STRIDES THAT HAVE BEEN MADE IN WOMEN'S' RIGHTS AND EQUALITY, UNFORTUNATELY THESE TYPES OF INEQUALITIES. STILL PREVAIL. VIRGINITY, IF CHOSEN, SHOULD BE A PLATFORM OF PRIDE FOR THAT PERSON. IT SHOWS A MATURITY, INTELLIGENCE AND WISDOM TO KNOW THAT WAITING FOR A RELATIONSHIP THAT IS TRULY MEANINGFUL EXHIBITS MORE COURAGE THAN ONE WHO FOLLOWS THE CROWD AND DOES SOMETHING BECAUSE OF PEER PRESSURE OR THE DESIRE FOR INSINCERE SOCIAL ACCEPTANCE. BE STRONG, PATIENT AND TRUE TO YOURSELF. " MALE OR FEMALE" DO NOT BE ASHAMED OR FEEL PRESSURED BY ANYONE OR ANY IDEAS OF WHAT YOU SHOULD BE OR DO. BE PROUD OF THAT "RESPECT" YOU HAVE FOR YOURSELF AND WEAR IT AS A BADGE OF HONOR. BE ONE OR THE COURAGEOUS AND STAY YOUR OWN COURSE... GOOD LUCK......JUST A THOUGHT....... PEACE....

Probably eighty five or ninety percent of the guys that are sexually active have never experienced the pleasure of having sex with a girl that still has an intact hyman ,,,, If they did then you wouldn't hear most of the saying that they don't care or not ,,,, This for a girl is just a one time gift that she gives to the fellow of here choice ,,,,, It's only a one time thing ,,,,, After that ,,,,, that's it ,,,, She becomes just like all the other girls in the world that have already lost their virginity ,,,, Believe me if most guys knew what it was like to be the girls first they'd be on the rutt all the time ,,,,,,

Guys ought to care just as much as girls (maybe more so) because how can they expect what they don't have when they get to marriage? I've always had a problem with that myself. Hormones drive guys extremely hard but that does not mean they need to lose respect for themselves or their girl friends. Regardless of what you hear guys, too (many at least) do lose respect for themselves when they lose their virginity outside of marriage. Unfortunately the way many react is to go out and try to get another girl to hop in bed with them affirming their virility. Guess what? That doesn't improve their self respect. Guys SHOULD make a big deal over it as well as girls.
I'm glad YOU have respect for YOU. Guys DO care about that!!

There is a double standard - girls are supposed to be virgins until their wedding night and a girl who manages to do that is considered a very good girl. Guys are supposed to be "experienced" - a guy is supposed to lose his virginity as young as possible, and have a lot of sex partners. That's why girls care about being virgins, but to a guy, being a virgin is a bad thing and virginity is something a "real man" loses as soon as possible.

The good ones do. They're just less vocal about it. That's you double standard in action: guys are expected to have gotten laid at least once before they exit highschool, and girls are supposed to be virgins on their wedding night. It's an important stepping stone to maturity, and opens you up to a lot of really vile diseases, which is why I haven't lost mine yet. Other reasons are purely traditional; it used to be that a man would not wed a woman who was not a virgin. Some of that old prejudice remains, silly as it sounds.

maybe girls just have more to lose than guys. society makes a hero out of a guy who sleeps around, but when a girl does the same it's a different story. and maybe the pressure on guys is worse than on girls. there's still some honour in being a virgin as a girl, but it's usually a matter of ridicule for a guy. pretty unfair, i think.

Guys care very much but so as not to make the girls who've lost it feel like sluts, we don't talk about it. If you're holding on to your virginity until you are with your eternal love, I salute you and so does every positive force in the universe.

This is just a matter of social conditioning. Some kids are brought up to believe that losing your virginity at a young age is a bad thing, and other not so much.

Baby Doll, your are the dream girl of most guys. Some guys care, but most like women who are in touch with their sexuality and celebrate it. Girls are told not to really connect with their sexuality and ergo, they have no connection to themselves. They're taught or told, to hold on to their virginity until their wedding night at which time they are supposed to know themselves and what a man wants, Pretty scary.
No doubt, you are a most extraordinary and sexy girl.
