there is obviously a REASON as to why you are over eating. Trying to STOP yourself from eating will not help unless you can identify the REASON behind it and deal with that! A little thing I use is H.A.L.T: before I eat I just quickly say it in my head, it stands for Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired (H.A.L.T) I check if I'm eating for any of those reasons - because if I am , its emotional eating and NOT cos I'm actually hungry. That way I am learning to deal with the REASON and not just stuff my face!!! hope that helps xx

i take it you you're worried about eating too much.. which may lead to obesity. I was and still am eating a lot of food. I was overweight and people don't really believe that when they see me now.

The principle is
you'll store energy as fat only when
the input outweighs the output.
so an alternative for you if restraining from eating is too difficult, is to increase activities... aerobic activities.

anaerobic activities is basically when you're doing it, you're gasping for air. aerobic activities are less intense, it includes walking in the garden, cleaning the house, etc.
key: keep yourself in motion all the time.

aerobic energy utilization is by far much
more efficient than anaerobic.

Majority of energy is used by your brain. Exploit this, develop your thinking skils, explore new mental challenges.

you may want to avoid
starving yourself for hours then have a big meal once a day.
it actually tells your body (we can call that physiological adaptation) to 'conserve' energy after your only meal, adapting for glucose starvation when you're not having meal.

eat low calorie food every few hours... and again keep your mind and body in motion..

drink a lot of water before eating. not sure this is a great idea physiologically, but it'll make you full earlier.

and 'curse' junk foods every time you see them. label them as saboteur to your health and natural beauty. Conditioning mind like that will kill your appetite for them overtime. it worked for me.

I mentioned i was and still am eating loads of food.
the difference is now i choose (very strictly) what goes in and what's not.
choose fruits, vegetables..
declare war against junk foods. :-)

good luck..

Hi. Well you can make a journal where you write down everything you eat in a day. Do this for about a week, then review it. If what you are eating isn't good for you you can adjust. You may think that you eat alot but that may not be the case. For example, I thought that I ate alot but that wasn't the case. I actually found out that I don't eat a lot but what I eat isn't healthy.

Dear sweetheart, do you want to stop eating because you don't like how you look, o because you want to be healthy?
being overweight it's difficult for many people, teenagers or adults deal with this situation all the time, but you should think about your health more than your looks, if you convince yourself of all the good benefits of being healthy you will do exercise to feel strong and you will choose health foods to lower your cholesterol and prevent heart attack and the rewards will be looking and feel good inside and out. Don't give up, join karate, kickboxing, etc. you'll be encourage to be around positive people. Love you.

You don't say WHY you want to stop! We're not all psychic here.

In general; You don't stop. You change what you eat. You change when you eat. You change why you eat. Depending on your circumstances these changes could be done in any number of ways.

You need to figure out WHY you need to change and make those changes that you can. Ask friends or professionals for help.

There is a medication on the market that you get from your doctor that is called "Phentermine." It has shown to be very very succesful in making the mind think that the stomach is full. It has worked for quite a few friends of mine. Never heard any complaints about it. Hope I helped.

Dear friend! You better drink water when you feel hungry; I have been through the same situation and I controlled over this strong instinct with drinking more water.

i hope you don't mean you want to try to starve yourself for awhile. something that has helped me is brushing my teeth anytime I eat so that I don't eat salty then sweet, and keep the taste cravings going. also, fill up on water.
