If you are registered. Most areas you need to register to vote 4-6 weeks prior. No voter card is needed in any state but most, not all , require a government picture ID, passport is fine There are a few places that allow registration on the day of voting.

I am a registered votere in Ohio, and there you receive your polling place. When you arrive their you show them either your state id or drivers license or any other form of id. In Ohio, you use a regular personal id instead or a voter id card.
