I know I should clean them, but I was wondering if there are any special things that you other golfers do to help your clubs through the winter. I plan on using them at least 2-3 times a month throughout the winter. So I was just wondering if anyone had any tips. One of my buddies said that he rubs his down with anti-freeze, but I don't really think he was being serious...

If you have steel shafts make sure the hole in the top of the grip is clear and that you take your clubs inside after each round and let them dry in a warm environment. Condensation inside a steel shaft produces rust and will cause the shaft to break. Store the clubs with the head up so any moisture inside the club runs away through the hole in the top of the grip. You would be surprised how much moisture does accumulate inside a steel shaft.

If you played them all season long, you might consider having them re-gripped. A lot of people go for eons without having their grips checked for wear or movement, which is VERY important for maintaining a direction of your swing...plane, clubface, etc. You might take a few of the more often-used clubs in to a qualified professional for his/her opinion; and if you decide to have those done, do them all for consistancy. If nothing needs to be done, clean and oil the heads and tuck them in for the winter!

if you keep them in your vehicle during the winter (or cold weather) its not good for your clubs cuse if you start playin with them in the cold it increases your chances of your club breaking...its the difference between having a club for 4 years and having a club for 7 years!!! So keep them warm and clean...have a nice day!!!

Clubs are fine in most weather conditions. The cold may harm rubber grips. More important is to not let the golf balls freeze/thaw...they are much more prone to cold weather harm.

You are right on track.....just clean them & also make sure you store them inside the house in a place that stays warm. Cold weather isn't good for em.
