How often does a NORMAL random guy approach you and ask if he can take you out on a date? Neither of you can be drunk or in a club. I'm talking about at a starbucks/chapters/library.

yeah, this happens - Ive been asked out randomly several times- once just walking down the street...but it happens more often when you see each other somewhere casually a few times. Like, Ive been asked in grocery store lineups, sandwich shops, libraries, on the bus, at a place where I worked, in the apartment lobby...
Hands down though, the GYM.
I have been asked out like 5 times at the gym. Guys that go to the gym I think have more confidence.
I'm 28. I think it helps that I am not intimidating: Im friendly, polite, non judgemental, smile a lot, short/petite. Cute - not sooo hot it's scary.

Well i think it would be a little strange for a guy to randomly ask a girl on a date. Once during a sulsa dance lesson i took with my younger cousins one of the boys that was their asked me if i wanted to go out sometime, but we had been dancing for a while first and talked. I've been asked out a few times by guys at parties but they were usually a bit intoxicated.
I am 20 by the way and the sulsa dance thingy happened when i was 17.

Not that often. I am 27 and have a bf. Yeah alot of guys "hit on girls" or chat them up but few actually ask anyone out. I think guys start by just chatting a girl up to feel out the situation but barely get what they need to ask a girl out. It could be the girl not being nice enough or the guy being too afraid. Girls should be nicer and guys take the risk!

I've had guys ask for my phone number, but never a date. I mean, you just met. A little phone conversation is less stressful and safer for the girl. I'm 23.

once every few months i guess. 3 mos ago it was an old guy at a coffee shop, last month it was a guy my age at a coffee shop. but either way, i won't go out bec i was there to study. in short, they were distracting.... so if you wanna approach a girl/guy see if they aren't busy with anything or concentrating hard on something..... good luck!

i get compliments all the time but no one really asks me alot but then again i do not get out much bc i am at home most of the time with my kids. i am 24
