When i want to start it i have to bang on the gas tank to grt the pump to work.

locate the wiring conector for the fuel pump .. unplug it .. clean and reinstall .. if this doesnt do it .. get a pump from the local salvage yard for about half the cost of new and toss that baby in . if you need instructions on how to do it .. a haynes manual is only about 20 bucks . oh also . from experience .. wait til your tank is on an eighth of a tank to change the pump .. saves on a very volitle mess .. lol. have a great day .

well its time to change the fuel pump, also change the in-tank filter as well as the regular fuel filter. i would recommend you do it soon or your gonna look silly banging on the tank and nothing is hapening

i would think to change it out it might go out on you soon if its in the tank good luck with it hope it works out for ya.
