We have been sending holiday cards to my family and his for years now, some send a card in reply but many of them don't and never have. Would you continue to send cards? Why?

The thing about sending holiday cards is that it became a tradition because others wanted to send best holiday wishes to others they might not see on that holiday. People receiving the card wanted to return the greeting, as well.

As time marched on, we can find oodles of cards created by so many artists that you are compelled to buy a bunch to send to the many people on your list. However, in today's time, many people are not returning the well wishing. You never learn why, you just never receive a card in return.

I used to send out at least 60 cards. I would get about half in return. So, I trimmed my list and only send to people I want to wish happy holidays and those who send a card to me that was not on my list.

To me, it is rude not to reciprocate.

You should send them. You never know what is happening in some else's life. It may be that the gesture is over looked, but it is equally likely that the person is having a very difficult time and your card brings a moment of light into a dark place.

You might as well stop, bec I think most people who don't send cards also don't give a damn about receiving them either.

I used to send out cards to everyone, but now I just send cards to people I like a lot and who I feel will be pleased to receive one.

I would still send them. Unfortantly I am one of them people that can get them all made out and then get sidetracked. I don't have the stamps or the money to get the stamps. Or I havent been to check the mail in like 3 weeks. Come May or April you may get a Christmas card, if I hadn't give up on tring to get them out. I am really bad about that. I do love to recieve them too though.

Not everyone sends out holiday cards. Almost everybody loves reciving a holiday card, it usually brightens someones day ecspecially if there is a photo included. It it better to give something, than be worried about receving something back.

I guess it depends. I know of some people who would rather give me a telephone call than send a card or or letter. So it evens out.
I do have family who don't bother with any form of communication and after a few years of this I don't bother any more.

Yes, I would continue to send cards to them because it is better to give than to receive.

I think a card is not necessarily reciprocal. It's a way to show the other person that you care about them. So if you care, send them, no matter whether you think they'll send one.

depends on why you're sending them...is it just to get one back or are you sending it because you feel its right and you're doing it for you and your husband? figure out why you send them then decide if its worth it. some ppl get more out of doing nice things without expecting anything in return than they do getting something back.
