They don't scare me, but it's true I try to stay away from them. No street preacher would ever convert me.

There is a guy named Preacher Bob at the University that I work at. He is always preaching about how terrible people are. How terrible gays especially are. They do wear shirts that say "no homos go to heaven" and preach how terrible gambling is.

I'm a happily married woman, but I don't appreciate his preaching about homo's and most people think he's nothing but a big joke. If he ever converts anyone to christianity I would be surprised. If anything, he probably turns them off.

If you weren't a Christian presumably you wouldn't believe in hell, so if someone approached you on the street & told you you were going to hell wouldn't you think that they were a nut (at the very least).

And street preachers probably scare people away. There's a time & place for everything & I doubt most people would stop what they're doing to listen. If someone is drawn to Christianity, hopefully they would search out a church for religious instruction - not some nut on the street who preaches who-knows-what.

No preacher ever brought a man into relationship with God.
Only the Holy spirit does that work. Therfor, they can not scare them away, because the Holy spirit is bigger than anything a preacher could do.
with that editorial said, no the people come to hear the word are dead, if they are frightened, the they are scared, and dead. Not a good result, but to make an omlet, you got to break some eggs

Christianity at large is doing pretty well at making people ill. The soapbox preachers are just considered mental whack-jobs and ignored, usually more people are physically than spiritually concerned when around them.

However, people like Falwell, Haggerty, Robertson, the Grahams, Bob Jones, Phelps, the Pope, etc. do a pretty darn go job turning people off christianity.

good point.

i go to the university of iowa and like 4 times a year these street preachers come around. They all wear shirts that say "god hates fags" and other stuff like that. Even when i was religious i thought it was really disgusting. Now i think that they should be shot on sight.

study sufficient about Christianity to carry close that "undesirable issues" do not ensue to human beings by the favor of God. God is a own God. you're searching for a closer relationship with him. No decision needs to be made with out delay, nor does it opt to be made now and always. at the same time as dealing with an significant decision continually ask. Do I really might want to make your thoughts up at present? and continually ask What am i able to do if I later discover out i'm making a mistake? One decision that human beings have a tendency to disregard is to attend and convey at the same time extra training, yet that's what anybody does at the same time as a relationship develops to the point once you're evaluate marrying. isn't your relationship with God as or extra significant than one with an greater 0.5? Wait. Get extra training. i visit inform you that you do not realize Christianity. i visit inform out of your concern. I understand the acceptance of Judaism even even with the truth that i'm Christian. once you concentration on waiting ask both Questions: do you may want to make your thoughts up now and what if you're making a mistake. this can make you mushy with waiting at the same time as you study extra. do no longer be afraid to study, it truly is by no skill incorrect to study extra about God or life with a view to make an significant decision.

If people allow themselves to be scared away from God by other people, then they really don't care to know God to begin with.

As for the answer to your question, I couldn't tell you, not having the statistics...and uncertain whether or not the research has been done.

That'd be the bad teeth, the mad look in their eye and a beard like a rhododendron.... Plus, they keep claiming to be Jesus or Elvis (or both) to anyone who'll listen. Does not go down well with the Christians....

they don't scare me, but when I'm walking around the street to go somewhere that's the last thing i want to talk about getting converted into religion. more annoying to me.
