would not let me leave.. spent many hours together.. no sex... we are both single and in our 30s.. beautiful man.. then suddenly, after i left.. we would chat on line.. one minute he's very attentive... next he's cold.. then very attentive again. We had the most beautiful night together.. then he set up 3 dates with me.. then cancelled them.... He states that he's shy.. but gee whiz, surely to god at his age of 39, he can't be that shy. lol...

What is your HONEST intake on this?

some say that alcohol brings the minds defenses down, and allows people to be more open. so when he sobered up, he probably went back to being the shy person he really is. Ever see the 40yr. old virgin? might shed some light.

I think everyone has pretty much answered it, but I thought I'd write anyhow. And add that no, you aren't weird for not wanting to go out and get drunk. I never wanted to do that type of thing either when I was your age, so I understand where you're coming from. Do what makes you happy, because everyone has fun in different ways. Drinking is something teenagers (& some adults) do to look "cool" but to me there's nothing cool about getting drunk, behaving stupidly & vomiting everywhere (because most young people can't drink sensibly & just overdo it to try to impress others so they end up making themselves ill). It's dumb when you think about it. Keep hanging out with your sister, maybe meet some of her friends. If there's someone at school you think looks friendly/nice, try saying hello to them or even just smiling at them. Take little steps to making friends if you feel isolated. You sound like such a nice girl - if I lived anywhere near you, I'd take you out for coffee & a nice chat! You aren't weird, you're a sensitive person. And I'm sure your psychotherapist wouldn't consider you weird either. He would understand that everyone has different wishes, feelings, thoughts etc and just because you aren't like most of the other people at school does not mean you are weird.

he's a loser and probably married or in a relationship. the keyword here is 'drunk', he said he loved you 100x, he's attentive one minute, cancels dates and you're still talking to the guy?! he's not shy, he's not really attentive and there is a reason he is still 'single' at 39. really if one of your friends told you this same story about some guy they met what would you tell them?

#1 ---You Obviously Like Him and are really hoping that he MEANT every word he said

#2--- He was DRUNK!! ----Don't believe all that "I love you" stuff until he shows some real action (and I DONT mean sex) while he is SOBER to prove his love

#3--> Question: Was he Drunk while he was cancelling each of those three dates???? Because if NOT, that oughta tell you something about his romantic intentions (or the lack thereof)

Normal behavior for a drunk. (Makes me wonder why you consider him a "beautiful man"). Well anyways, sounds like he has sobered up, realized the errors of his ways, but will never admit it to you. Let him move on...

stop meeting guys in places that serve booze, if you do and they order a drink, make sure that's the last date you have with the guy

Absolute and total loser or has hot emotional or mental issues.

And by the way - no bipolar can cycle that fast. Schizo maybe but nuts for sure.
