Her dad does not speak english very well but I think he likes me. I think that they are US citizens, but they get very irritated when I ask for more information. I really like the chick. What should I do?

Turns out her Great great grand parents donated the land for the cemetery outside of Taos NM. Her Great grandfather was killed by lightening while working in the fields of their ranch there.
Her great uncle was the first Dentist in that state, another uncle was the first plumber, another the head of the largest school district in the state of New Mexico, her father and another Uncle were survivors of the Bataan Death March World War II.
Another uncle was a PHD head of the Spanish American Studies at Colorado College, and she has a top security clearance for the US Dept of Defense and was a counselor at the Defense Language Institute in California. No wonder they were irritated at questions about their citizenship' they have been here since the 1700's.

If you love her you should marry her, as time passes you will see what she really wants, its not like she will get her green card (if she needs it) the day after the wedding, the process can take 2 to 3 years, enough time to see what she wants.
And I'll even go as far as to say that if you know her and her family, and you know they are of good moral character, would it kill you to help a chick that without a green card would end up working as a waitress the rest of her life?

Well, if you love her, go for it.
However, it is strange that they would get angry when you ask for information. I would think that finding out about the family is a normal situation before marriage.
You might try asking in a round-about way like asking her what her credit rating is and so forth. (Illegals don't have credit ratings/credit cards because they are tied to social security numbers) Also do they tend to pay cash for everything....also a sign of illegals/no credit.
Remember, that even if you marry her, if she is illegal she can be deported since you didn't go through the fiance visa steps.

You should only marry someone when you are sure that you love them and wish to spend the rest of your life with. I would ask what their status in the United States is, though, because if she is illegal, she may just be out to get her green card.....It's a touchy subject, but you have every right to know...they should understand that and not get irritated....after all, if you are in love with her and she with you, it shouldn't matter if she is not a citizen, but its best to know the truth. So you'll know exactly what you are getting into. Good Luck and Best Wishes.

"Really liking the chick" is not grounds for marriage. You should be head over heels, deeply in love with each other. You should not have any reservations and should have any concerns answered before you even contemplate asking for her hand in marriage.
Continue dating and building your relationship, when the time is right and you are sure you want to spend the rest of your life with her (if you do) then you will know.
This is obviously not the time...
Best wishes.

Love has no boundary, but if you think she just wants to marry you for "Green Card", better do some research first before getting yourself into a deep marriage pit. If you have doubts, talk to the girl in a nice way but don't offend her or her family. If she truly loves you, she will understand (that you want her to love you, not love your U.S. citizenship).

She is just looking to get legal. Dump her. She will surely do the same in three years when she doesn't need you anymore.
