I drove my car to work today and it ran fine, when I got out of work my car didn't want to start, finally it started, then it died. Took a little longer and then it stalled again, but this time it wouldn't restart. I had someone jumpstart it and still no luck, then we tried push starting it, still no luck. Could someone tell me what the problem might be? Other then it is a Ford... Lately the weather has been below freezing and I was thinking that I might have water in my gas, any ideas?

But if this was the battery it should still start if someone jumps it right? As far as water in the gas, couldn't that be created by 1. Bad gas or 2. condinsation?

Yes, water can condense in your gasline, especially if it sat in warm air during the day, and then it cooled very quickly as the sun went down.
Did you make sure you have gasoline in the tank? If so, then:
Does it fire when you start it? Or, does it just make noise, and not fire or not turn over?
If it is firing, then you need to add some gas line antifreeze, and about an hour afterward, have a friend use cables to jump the car. If this doesn't work, you can try spraying starter fluid directly into the manifold.
If this doesn't work, you need to clean out the injectors and try again.
If it is not firing you need the starter and solenoid tested, and things could go on from there.
Find a mechanic you can trust, and go to work. After it starts, have the engine tuned, filters replaced, diagnostics run, and then fix what needs fixing. After that, have it tuned and tested every 6 months or so.
Good luck.

if you get a jump start and it starts then soon after shuts off ,that an alternator no dought . but if even with a jump start it wont start but the other electrical (like lights) have power then it might be something like a starter solonoid thats not sending power to the starter you can test it with a basic test light . if the solinoids ok it might be a bad starter ....seeing as to how the problem comes & goes this very well could be the case , the starter will need replacing but a tempoary fix is to wak it with a hammer or something else hard (im not kidding ask any guy) it dosent take a very hard wack if its the starter this usually works . the only thing i can think of if the car sounds like it wants to start is that the fuel pump or fuel filter are cloged or something . it cant likely be the computer because it comes & gos but if it were the check engine soon light would come on . any auto parts store will help you check this stuff , for free the parts are pretty cheap & easy to replace if you know where to look . now you have all the info you should have know problem

i own a repair shop, and what might have happened to it is the gas line might have frozen up on it,,this will happen if there's any water,,or condensation in the tank, and it wont start and stay running on it,,if you can get it in the dry and in a heated garage it might thaw it out,and it may also be the gas filter on it causing this to happen, but you said it got worse as the weather got colder,,so id say its fuel related ,if not you may have to have a shop,,look at it,,and it being a ford isn't that bad, their alright cars,,like anything else they will give trouble too,,good luck i hope this help,s,,,have a good x-mas.

just guessing wioth out knowing much about the car or the problem its more than likely your fuel pump, its in the tank to check it open your gas cap. have someone turn your car on without turning it over! put your ear near the hole that you put gas in and listen for a buzzing if there is no buzzing sorry your fuel pumps toast. sby the way you might want to do a tune up first......... any other questions drop me a line awl_construction@yahoo.com

If the engine spins its the timing belt, if the engine doesn't spin, poor booster cables were use to start it or the starter is burnt
