THE WORD: SENTENCE- I was reading and studying the word the other day and when I was looking something up in the concordance I seen the word “sentence” in the description. At that point the Lord impressed upon me more about the word “sentence”. The word “sentence” defined as: A group of organized words that expresses a complete thought. We also use the word sentence in the case of when someone is convicted of a crime and a sentence or judgment is passed determining the individuals punishment for the crime he or she has committed. The Lord revealed to me that every time we speak we are making sentences. Not just in the sense of forming a group of words conveying a complete thought, but in the sense of passing judgments on someone or something whether they be good or bad depending on their content. Everything we say conveys life or death sentences. When God said: I set before you cursing and blessing, death and life, choose life. He was not just referring to actions, but what we say also

Back in the 60's my father was a logger. Once a tree fell on him pinning him to the ground. He broke some ribs, but survived. After that he had a fear of internal bleeding and spoke of it. In 1978 he was in an accident and died of internal bleeding.

Job said those things which I feared the most have come upon me.

Thanks for all your input, God bless.

You are right. Word are extremely important. I hope everytime someone reads my Yahoo name it puts a little nudge on their heart whether they realize it or not. Maybe if the see the words choose life (choozlifexo) enough, it may get noticed, even if subliminally.

Another thing about words. Did you ever think about why Jesus is called the Word of God. Everything God has to say to us he said in Jesus. Jesus is not only the Word, He is the Sentence...Sentence as in God's complete message to us, and Sentence as in if He didn't pay for our penalty for sin, then we will be sentenced, as in judged.

And what I really love about your "question" is that it conveys to anyone with a brain that christians are indeed brainwashed. I grew up christian and am now an atheist because of many, many different circumstances, and the main one was realizing that christians are.... brainwashed. Now that I've been able to step away from all of it and get a different perception, they REALLY do SOUND crazy....it is truly amazing to say the least. They REALLLY do SOUND as if they are part of some cult... it's even creepy sometimes. Sad too, because it's affecting the world in such a negative fashion. Believe in yourself, always be honest and protect ALL living things and you will have a good life.... plain and simple. Be well, Jack

And how do you know that the lord said all this?
Did he call you at home or talked to you directly?
I think not. You read it in a book that some guy wrote thousands of years ago (who was probably hearing voices like all schizos do) and that was rewriten, edited, and translated numerous times to the crap we call bible today.

That is so true. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. If any one can control his tongue he can control his whole body. We will give account for every idle word we speak, according to the Bible. It says that blessings should come from our mouths, not curses. Thanks

I think your thesis is nonsense. If I wish someone a nice day, or ask the price of a bottle of milk, there is nothing judgmental about any of it. As for the notion that the lord is saying things in your head, it sounds to me as if you are in serious need of professional help.

Yes I agree with you that we should not judge others. my study bible says " it not a blanket statement to overlook wrong behavior of others, but a call to be discerning rather than negative. John 14:6 say Jesus saith unto them, "I am the way, the truth, and the life:.... so to choose life would be to choose Jesus which would include surrendering our speach to Him.

that's interesting, but not everything we say is passing a sentence. i mean really, it's just not. not one of my sentences on here is judging you, and it certainly doesn't convey life or death sentences. i see what you mean though, and it's good insight.

God bless!

I agree with you 100%. Our words can do damage as much as help others. But our actions speak louder than words.

And if we judge, we use the sword of truth and judge in the righteousness of the Word of God. And if we intend to do this or that we are to have it known that "if it be God's will."
