I have a black kitten also and I wanted to name her something unique, not the typical names like Blackie or Midnight and such. I chose the name Tia because it's short, sweet and elegant sounding, much like she is, lol. Btw, Onyx would have been my second choice. Love that name too!

I have an all black cat that I named Shadow and he is a shadow in more than one way. He follows me all over my house as well as being black. I also like the name Midnight.

My favorite method of naming any pet is to aboserve their behavior and name them accordingly. I once had a cat that liked to play Possum, if you petted her she would just lie there and pretend to sleep. The moment you stoped she would pounce on your hand when you're not looking. So I named her possum, she also liked to attack your feet from hiding places.

Jezzabelle means Goddess of the night, or you could call her Midnight, or Shadow.
