Absolutely nothing. Just a total waste of money that could have been spent elsewhere on stuff that really matters. We've already f'd up the earth in few short years. So now what, let's spread our garbage to the moon? Yo, how 'bout you take care of here before you go trying to "seek out new worlds, new civilizations" to f up even more than the earth? A po'd taxpayer who says, "Take care of the damage mankind has already done here instead of trying to send the sewage and garbage elsewhere.. The moon shouldn't be just another Love Canal, for those of you old enough to remember what that was. Beam me up Captain Kirk, 'cause these people are idiots and I want no part of it.

It was one in the continuing set of steps to allow man to venture out into space and one day colonize the galaxy and beyond. Visiting the moon is perhaps mankind's greatest accomplishment so far. Think of the billions of humans over a million years who gazed up in the sky and wondered what that thing is up there, and in our time we went there and know what it really is.
But it turns out there's little reason to build a base there, as there's no useful material, such as water, to create a self-sustaining colony, nor to provide a fueling, building and launching point for spacecraft. Because of that it was and still is much easier launching a space ship into orbit than all the way to the moon, so once we were done exploring, we haven't been back, and have concentrated on building a space station in orbit.
But what we really need to do in order to live out there is to harness a better energy source, such as fusion, aim for a place with resources that can be used as fuel, or ideally build a space elevator, although the problems associated may be insurmountable.
Going to Mars by conventional methods is going to be the likely next step, because there is likely water there in some form. I can't see any point in this moon base project that has began recently?

gotta land there first for it to benefit us.
Donald Rumsfeld, who was the master mind behind it all during the Nixon years is on video from 2002 stating the moon landing and all the Apollo missions were faked.
They were faked to keep the image of the USA as the proud and dominate power in the world. Even the Russians knew we faked it within 1/2 a day. But why didn't they say anything? Cause they were trying to fake theirs as well.
Man can't leave too far past the orbit of the earth as there is a massive radiation field that is around us. No matter the craft, a man going thru this radiation belt will be like a man trying to survive over 1000 microwaves on high at once. Its impossible.

I can't see any...
But it is said that everything in existence is made for man, learning about how they help man is important.
I don't think anybody has actually landed on the moon, total fake... otherwise there would have been numerous landings since that, earth's outer orbit is visited every often and why not moon? Done once can be done again with far more ease... Don't you think so?

I am sure the benefits from landing on the moon are greatly related to Outdoor Recreation. I mean, we got this awesome question for one.

"In 1963, PresidentKennedy asked Vice President Johnson to investigate the possible technological and scientific benefits of a moon mission. Johnson concluded that the benefits were limited but, with the help of scientists at NASA, put together a powerful case, citing possible medical breakthroughs and interesting pictures of earth from space."
"Large amounts of research have already been conducted on how spaceflight affects the human brain, heart, lungs, bones, muscles, and other body parts. This research has two major benefits. Most obviously, it helps researchers prepare for improvements to human spaceflight in the future. With the ISS, astronauts are staying in orbit longer than they ever have before, so this research is helping them to stay healthy while they are in space and when they return to Earth. Someday, people will go on even longer space missions as they travel beyond Earth orbit, and may eventually visit other planets. For that to happen, scientists have to understand how the human body will react to these new experiences.
John Glenn underwent several medical tests during his Space Shuttle flight. But, studying humans in space does not only benefit the astronauts while they are in space. There are also benefits to space-based research here on Earth as well. Studying problems that occur in microgravity can help researchers better understand similar problems on Earth. And, finding solutions for spaceflight-related problems can help people suffering from related maladies on Earth. Research on keeping astronauts fit in space has led to the development of new fitness techniques for Earth. Space suit technology to protect astronauts from the vacuum of space is also used to protect children suffering from a potentially lethal sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation, called hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia. Researchers anticipate that studies on how to provide for emergency blood transfusions for astronauts will produce artificial blood cells that can be used on the ground as well.

Nothing, because they have never been there. Why haven't they been back, techonolgy is a million times better than it was in the 60's, now do that make any sense? The moon scene was shot on the Area 51 property.

I heard, today, that they are planning on colonizing the moon. Maybe it will benefit us by shipping all of the criminals to the moon.

A watch they called Omega Moon Watch, which cost a bomb to buy but you don't actually need it since you don't go to the moon often.
