For your answer, they say it's with amino acids, which are combinations of different chemicals and elements..hydrogen and so forth. Basically, it's the idea that these chemicals came together in different ways to create amino acids, then you need amino acids together to create a protein. The thing is, there are millions of amino acids in one protein, and each amino acids needs to bond to one water molecule..the chances of this happening are incredibly small. On top of that, you need many many proteins, to begin building the structure of life. Then, they think that some sort of energy..lightening is the most common sort of "zapped" life into it. It's stupid to me.. They'll believe anything to avoid a God..it seems... And for that other person's answer, cloning is not an example. That proves Intelligent Design! A creator creating something else. God made us in his own image, maybe he cloned us? Cloning is not an example of science making an organism.

Scientists have found that by combining naturally occurring minerals, and massive amounts of electricity, the can create a cell like structure that has many of the same features as a living cell.
Now I know you are going to say that the fact that it is not alive proves something, but lets think about the fact that we don't have access to the radiation and elements in the massive quantities that they were bombarding the earth with when the first organism would have been brought to life.
While it might not be possible right now, I'd say we've come pretty close.

Haven't you heard that they tried once. According to the story I heard, once the scientists challenged God and told Him that they can create a man from earth just as He did in the beginning.
So they decided upon a day and a lot of people have gathered to witness the event. the scientists have prepared a big work table complete with equipments and materials needed.
When the time comes, they asked who should begin. God said, since they were to made the challenge, they can have the advantage by starfing first. They took a spade and started to pick up a shovelul of dirth from the ground to pile it on the work table. But God suddenly said: "Wait a minute boys, that dirt is mine. Why don't you create your own dirt first!"

There was a time when people thought that no chemical in the body could be synthesized in a lab. Then some fellow synthesized urea.
It's just a matter of time before we create the first virus or something. We can already easily create new species of viruses in our labs.

For all of the advances of science, we still can't cure the common cold. Why would you assume we'd be able to create life?

Science already has made living organisms.
From manufactured bacterias and viruses, to nanobots and cloning.
