Does it make a difference if a guy asks for a girl's number or if he gives her his number?

Actually I should have said, i didnt mean if a girl asks a guy. What if the guy approaches the girl first and 2 things could happen, he gives her his number (without her asking) or he takes her number.

Of course it's different, when he gives her his number, that means she has to call or in other words: (he's telling her: call me if interested), which means the guy is waiting for the girl to say that she wants him. Noway.
When he asks for her number, he's doing the first move toward a relationship, then he calls her making the second move.
Guys should make the first 1 or 2 moves.

Ni It really doesn't make a difference. as long as the two parties are digging each other I think that either should make the first move. Personally I like it when they ask. It makes me feel Good! some guys my feel like a girl is forward if they ask. But I haven't ran into one of those yet. So..... Has he called you yet!!!!!!

I think it's polite for a man to give a woman his number. She can decide if she wants to call and the man isn't being too pushy. However, if a girl likes you she'll give you her number if you ask and, sometimes, if you don't.

I believe that common courtesy would be that a guy should give a girl his # so she doesn't feel obligated to give him hers, however, in my case I would rather a guy take my # because I would probably not have the courage to call him myself....call me old fashioned - Maybe it's best to just swap #'s

Both way it is clear he wants to keep in touch with her but when he requests for her number he makes sures he wants to keep in touch with her, and when he gives her his number i feel he can't be bothered much, coz only if the gal calls.

guys like getting the girl's number cus then they can call her

if a girl gets the guy's number she can decide if she ever calls him or not. In these day of "sexual predetors" that can rape or harass you it is NOT advisable for girl's to give out their number. you never know who you're talking to.

this is the way i like to do it and it makes my mind up fast,i give her my number,that way she can decide if she wants to know me or not,if she does i know she will put some effert into it,i already did.
