The kids can get a happy place and someday be adopted
they wont have to live in an orhanage where different ppl take care of them and there stuff gets stolen.
They will know that actual people CAN love and can care about them.
They will have a safe place to stay and possible there own room clothes and space to themselves they can go to school and bring their friends to their home. They possible can have morals and values set in them.
They can know how to make a bond with others
Just because there parents may not want them they will know that others may want them and love them.
there are many positives.
i hope i answer your question.

I know there are horror stories of foster homes, but I've seen lots that were very good. Most are well structured, a huge turn for the children that are in them coming from unsettled households. Children need structure and proper discipline. And most of all love.

There is constant interaction with people, especially other children. Most people who get involved in foster care get involved for the right reasons. They truly want to make a difference in the life of a child and be that one person they can depend on and trust after a difficult time.

Just in response to the person above me, not all kids are in foster care because parents dont want them. I know my mom wanted me, but due to circumstance she was unable to provide proper care for me. And no she wasnt a welfare mom, she just did not have the resources to care for my disability. Also, I only ever found one foster home out of 17 I was in that I bonded with the parent. Please take time to get to know a child in care before saying that it is always a positive experience. Big brothers and Big sisters offer many opportunities to do this. I volunteer there 2 a month. (would more often but I have 3 children of my own and a diploma program to finish)

The positive characteristic of foster care is ideally protection for a child from an unsafe environment.
