No way, the only features im excited about vista is DX10 and the eyecandy effects vista have, thats all! Don't believe of the vista security whatsoever. and if you wanna have the eyecandy effect, google wincustomize and try the free trial version they offer on their programs and tweak the effects until you get the exact vista style.

here's the price of vista:

Windows Vista Home Basic
200 euros or 255.55$ or 135.95 pounds

Windows Vista Home Premium
400 euros or 511.10$ or 271.90 pounds

Windows Vista Ultimate Edition
500 euros or 638.88$ or 339.87 pounds

Windows Vista Business
650 euros or 830.54$ or 441.84 pounds

Windows Vista Enterprise
800 euros or 1,022.20$ or 543.80 pounds

and i suppose you need to have DX10 card to enjoy the benifits of having a vista:

I searched at newegg, and found the cheapest DX10 card: EVGA geforce 8800gts:$449

The cheapest price for vista is $700 and its still the home basic version.
If you wanna have the ultimate edition, it would cost you more than thousand dollars.

And with Vista, you're only allowed for one transfer with computer.

iv been using windows vista for 2 years almost and all i have to say about that is i depends on the amount of office work you do because i also own a copy of office 2007 and iv ran it on xp but there were constantly problems but on vista it runs almost perfect mostly because they were made for each other

however over all i believe windows vista is a better program but you might want to wait a year after it comes out so you can get versions of the drivers you have fore you accessories such as printers and cameras built for windows vista

how ever with new operating systems comes new and improved virus's

so use a mac fore your Internet or expect to pay a lot for anti virus software fore both xp and vista

if i can help you any further email me at oldmainfan1@yahoo.com

Hi ,

i am currently using windows VISTA and its having very good graphics and user friendly environment. its cool feautures will let you know about the performance of the system

Its security is an asset , unllike other OS , vista will not allow to download or view any web sites or perform downloads without relevant permission which is a huge feature

Even with out logging off , we can log in with another user name which is a coolfeature .

Gadgets add more visibility for vista.

its great.

I say hold off, I'm using the final build and while its more secure than XP (at least until people have time to write there viruses and such to it) and it has a nice interface, especially if you have a powerful rig. It still has several compatibility issues. Give developers time to write updates, especially when it comes to drivers (namely sound drivers, unless you use Realtek its impossible to get true 3D sound in Vista). Lets just say i wouldn't have paid for it, i only use it cause i got a free copy (yes its legal, not bootlegged, some beta testers got free keys)

Why would i invest in Vista when XP can get most of my work done? I'd agree that OS should become better over time, but getting heavier on the system is not right. Thanks but no thanks
