I am a little old fashioned on this issue. If we are talking about grown-ups, then I would say that the man should pay always. A true gentleman enjoys being a gentleman when it comes to a true lady. However, I am a true lady and I always say I do dynomite home-cooked meals and picnics! HA! (Now if we are talking about teens, then I think its quite appropriate that the cost can be shared! However, as you get older, the women will consider the guy more of a MAN if he pays the whole thing.) Fair or unfair, that is the way it goes.

It sounds like your girlfriend is using you. Even in a relationship where the guy makes a lot more money than the girl, she should at least be offering to pay. Next time you are out to dinner, try not reaching for the check and see what she does, if she is never willing to pay then you are better of finding someone who won't take advantage of your generosity.

No, a guy should not always be required to pay. If she has money, she is perfectly capable of paying for at least one check once a week! A relationship is about sharing and you should be taking turns, especially if both of you work for the money that you make. It is only fair!

A true gentleman will always expect to pay. However, if your girlfriend has any etiquette, she will insist on paying any time she makes the plans. A really savvy girl would offer to pay a little for each date, though. For instance, she would run over to the snack counter and buy popcorn and soda for you guys while you wait in line to buy the movie tickets.

Maybe pay one round just to be nice, but that would be it. Depending on how many people your buying for. If its for like 2-3 okay. More then that I wouldn't offer. Maybe everyone could take turns buying a round too. That's what me and my friends do. If it's getting too pricey come right out and tell her. If she's that good of a friend she'll understand especially if you don't have the money to do it like you did before. If she don't like it well then she don't have to go with you.

Sometimes the girls pay. You just have to find the ones willing to pay and show that she is her own independent woman and is not try to be a golddigger and make you dish out all the money. Here's a great system. When she pays you choose the movie and place to eat. When you pay she chooses the movie and place to eat. It's fair and everyone's happy.

the thing i hate about that is that many women will keep dating a guy longer than they want cuz "hey, it's a free meal" thing. brutal but true. and you women know it. and if a woman EVER WANTS TO IMPRESS A GUY...just making the gesture to pay or split the cost goes a LONG WAY. c'mon girls, you are always asking what men like....that is a BIG ONE.

I think that's just viewed as "common gentleman courtesy". I wouldn't say guys always have to pay for their girlfriend.

I dont see why you shouldnt pay for every date. yeah you can see we live in "modern times", but some things just shouldn't change.
Even though I am a guy, i still feel doing this is the right thing to do.

the dating club sets you up and you go dutch treat,if you ask a girl out your accepting responsibility for paying,so ask her out to a resturaunt 1 date then make her a meal and rent a movie or listen to the radio on the next date most girls if they like you will accept that you have to watch your money some, and if they wont accept the fact you cant go out evry time then look for one who does,,
