We actually use pounds and ounces in the UK, as you will hear when people talk about how much a new-born baby weighs.
There are roughly 14 pounds in a stone, and 16 ounces in a pound.
It's just our European Union 'cousins' accross the water that insist we use grammes and kilogrammes.
As far as I know, Americans just refer to how much they weigh in pounds, and don't use stone as a measure of heaviness.
*add - well my nephew was 6 pounds 8 ounces when he was born, and I weigh 9st 7lbs (9 stone and 7 pounds)
I think it is you who is being the muppet! I've no idea what you weigh, but I can assure you it will be in stones and pounds.
Geez. Doesn't anyone go to school anymore.
