Take a dose of the Homeopathic Remedy ARNICA in 1M potency about two hours before going to the surgery and one dose after the extraction has been done and you will recover very fast from pain and discomfort and without infections or complications.
Take Care and God Bless you.

Meh, don't worry dude. I just had mine removed last week, I'm 17. As long as you take the meds (Vicodin is your best friend) you'll be fine. I think I could give a much more accurate description than other people of what will happen, since it's still in my memory.
1. They put a device on your fingernail to measure heart rate/pulse
2. They hook you up with nitrous oxide (laughing gas)
3. You lose all facial control as you laugh at the stupidest stuff.
4. They immobilize your arm.
5. They spray something REALLY cold on your arm, the most uncomfortable part of the surgery itself.
6. Then they inject the sleepy stuff, and you feel an short itchy feeling near your stomach before you drift off.
7. You wake up, doped up, and you're done. All the teeth are out.
8. For about 4 hours, you will not be doing much of anything except sitting in your couch at home, with gauze over the holes.
9. While taking the following: Vicodin, Amoxicillin (anitbiotic), and Ibuprofen, all large size.
10. You feel happy starting one to one and a half hours after the Vicodin, and you couldn't care less if someone chopped off your arm.
11. Your body gets used to the Vicodin, and less effect shows.
12. At night and morning, you will rinse your mouth with Chlorhexidine Gluconate, it will be minty and leave a slight aftertaste.
13. You will eat soft/liquid food, like soup or mashed potatoes.
14. No gauze needed the second or third day onward.
15. Continue until follow-up, at which time your dentist will check it over, then give you a syringe with a thick tip to clean the holes with the Ch. Gluconate.
16. Let them heal over.
I'm at step 15 ^_^

Pguana, I took my fifteen year old to get his wisdom teeth out last summer. I was really surprised how quick the procedure was. First of all they give you something for the pain. Also you should and could be asleep. Sometimes it depends on the type of insurance your parents have. If anything get some nitrous oxide (laughing gas). That is what my son had. Really the part that you should worry about is not getting dry socket afterwards. Your dentist will explain this in detail. Needless to say no sucking motion of the mouth or from a straw. Nothing. You'll just have liquid and soft food for a few days. They are really great about telling you what to expect. All in all don't be nervous. It is far better to get them out if they are impacted. And, don't look at any more pictures! You will only get the eeby geebies.

well.. no one will be able to call you a wise *** anymore.. hehe j/k..
honestly, this is isn't going to be a big deal, although I do understand your nervousness. For one thing, you'll be out, and won't feel a thing. When you wake up, you'll probably wonder when they're gonna do it, cuz it happens pretty darn fast. You won't feel pain for awhile, and if you do later, you'll get some pretty dang good stuff for pain. Be sure to rinse your mouth often with some stuff the doc will give you. That prevents any infection. And the holes where the teeth used to be will close really fast, the gums grow together.
What makes it so easy to be nervous about it all is that you haven't done this before. Take it from those of us who have then, it really won't be anywhere near as bad as you can imagine. Just relax and take deep breaths. Don't eat or drink, try to think of other things and get some sleep. You'll be ok! ;)

I had mine removed at 18 and it was no big deal. The procedure itself does not hurt. I had partial anesthesia and some gas and I just remember waking up at the end, didn't really know how long it took, and I didn't feel a thing. Only thing that sucks is the aftermath....the pain the stitches...it is just uncomforable. And the holes where the wisdom teeth are are not that big. For a while until it heals, food may get stuck down there but they will give you this little thing that you can shoot water back there to wash out whatever gets stuck. Good luck and don't worry you will be fine!

I had all four of mine removed at the same time too and I was scared sh*tless! It really wasn't anything.. since I was asleep the whole time. I can give you a bit of advice though.. it will be a little sore afterwards, but get you 2 regular tea bags (like lipton tea), wet them and stick them where your teeth were pulled. It pulls that soreness right out, better then anything the doctors could give you. You'll probably have pain pills but if you use the tea bags, you won't need them.
Good luck and try not to be so scared..that's hard I know but it's not nearly as bad as you think it'll be.

I had all four wisdoms removed a few years ago, and they were all impacted, meaing I had major oral surgery because the surgeon had to cut open my gums, break my teeth into little pieces and then scrape them all out, then suture my gums back up. I was put under, so I don't remember anything tramatic, but I was really sore and swollen for a few days. I was on pain meds for about a week. Then it was over and forgotten quickly. What I had done was the worst case scenario for wisdom teeth removal, and it really wasn't that bad. As far as the holes, they heal up nicely. You just have to be dilligent in keeping them clean. Your dentist will give you a syringe to force water into the holes to help clean out the food particles. Don't worry. It is really a very minor procedure by today's standards. Good luck!

I promise you this...You DO NOT want to keep them. My husband is 36 and last year his wisdom teeth erupted. OMG, I had to take care of him until he had them removed. It is MUCH more painful to have them erupt. They will hurt and push your other teeth together causing them to be crooked. I had mine taken out when I was 16 and I also heard the horror stories. The truth is that it is not bad at all. You will be happy when it's over. Just get some sleep and try to not think about it.

I got mine removed last year (or was it the year before...)
The doctor, to say the least, sucked. I wasn't explained what they would do and they wouldn't let my parents go in the room with me and it was my first "surgery" I ever had.
First off, let me say, the "surgery" itself didn't hurt a bit. To be honest, I was awake, but didn't feel them at all removing the teeth. The day after is when your cheeks will poof out and your family will be saying how much you look like a hamster ;).
It'll be hard to eat (get some baby food or yogurt) and uncomfortable for a few days to sleep because your cheeks will be very swollen.
I had to go in a second time because bacteria got stuck in the wound when it healed. I had to go back in and get a very very painful needle so they could clean the infection. You may want to ask for some oral rinse (mine was Chlorhexidine Gluconate) to prevent this from happening.
Hope this helped a bit. You'll be fine.

Don't worry its gonna be okay alright take a deep breath. Okay another! I had 4 impacted wisdom removed all pushing on a nerve. I had no pain after just swollen cheeks. They will put you to sleep you will wake up and look like a chipmunk they will give you pain meds. You will be able to eat tiny tiny little bites. Try get into your pj's and start doing some streches while you inhale and exhale. Then i want you to lie down in bed and concentrate on relaxing one body part at a time while breathing slowly. You will put yourself into a trance and fall right asleep. Keep the temp in your room cooler and not so hot. Please believe me its a snap and dont' worry okay i had same thing at same age!!!
