Just being with her will mean a lot to her. If you still want to give her a gift, maybe gift cards to places to were she likes to shop but unable to spend the money .

What does she like to do???

IF she likes to cook you can get her a special appliance that you know she won't have or if she likes to garden you can get her a gift certificate for a local nursery. If she is into arts you can go to any art store and tell them how long she has been doing her craft whether it is wreath-making, painting, quilt-making, etc. and the staff will set you up with things that these crafts habitually need replaced. You might want to add calling your mother and visiting her more often to your New Years Res. so that next year you don't have this problem. Not only that mom's don't live forever so enjoy her with all her annoying mothering while you can.

My dad always gives pretty quilts, and home baked cookies to his mom. I put together a scrapbook for my mom once and she cried for hours!!
