I need to install authorware6 on my laptop. But the phrase "cannot locate the authorware hardware key. Please attach it to a parallel interface port". Thanks.

Some software requires that you have a special hardware device plugged in to your printer port or COM port in order for it to verify you have a legal copy of the software. The hardware device has a little chip on it, where when sent a code, it returns a serial #. Without this, the software knows you do not have a license.
The only solution, if you can't find your hardware device, is to either call the company or 'crack' the program.

You'll need to do just what the error says, and plug in the hardware key for the software.

you need to buy a legit copy of the software. when you do so they will give you a piece of hardware to attach to the computer that allows the software to work properly.
