Good gravy train, not everybody who says "1" is going to get to be teacher's pet.
I'm going to ask for clarification and offer up that if we're talking about abortions/person then, yeah, probably your average woman with a heart is going to say "that was a bad idea" and attempt to exercise some better birth control. But does that mean that 1 is too many? Is one maybe the learning experience and two is too many? And maybe some woman's got a tad stonier heart or worse luck in men (or condoms) and she gets two or three and doesn't swear off 'em yet. Gee, I guess that if the question is "how many is too many per person" that I, as a guy, have argued myself out of a say (it's the woman's decision and it's her lesson to learn). Rats. I do so hate to write so much and have to say "I don't know" as a summary.
Okay, so the other possibility is maybe you meant how many is too much for the US or for the world. That is an impossible question. Each little gametes gotta be aborted on it's own clock by its own mother so maybe there's no real limit here - okay, just so I don't have to say "I don't know" again, I'll say that 3,000,000,000 per year is just too many. I gotta think the doctors who perform this procedure are pretty busy long before that though - so maybe 1.5 billion is too many.
What'd I win?

so many answerers here are oppossed to abortion....or rather oppossed to free choice. Personlly, I have absolutely no qualms with the medical proceedure of pregnancy termination.
We have the medical technology. We have the legal right. Neither one of those can go backward in advancement. If you, yourself, do not wish one....then by all means do not have one. It's kind of like changing the dial on your radio station. But please do not push your conservative agenda on my legal rights as a human.
If I am to be a mother, it will be on my terms. Why should I punish a child who is unwanted to a turmoltuous life? An unwanted pregnancy is not only torturous to the mother but also the child.
This will sound harsh, but the female is just a host until the symbiote is born. The mother is a protector of the child. And protection should come at all costs....no matter what. If the mother feels certain the child's growth will be hampered or damaged by the mother or father or parental interferance, the pregnancy should be terminated as a protection for society.
I am sure I will get the world of conservative right wingers beating down my door for this posting, but I simply can not ignore the rights of the mother. All these prolifers keep screaming about how the fetus is alive......it is still attached to the mother and is a burdon whether you accept that description or not.
It is god's breath that is breathed into the lungs of a child. In my interpretation, that means the first breath the baby takes outside of the womb and unattached to the mother's supportive ambilical cord seperated the birthed child from a grouping of cells in reproductive phases.
Hate me all you want, but I am not the only person that feels this way. I do not see abortion as murder.

It really depends on what you're asking exactly. Are you asking how many abortions is too many concerning your health or your spirituality? If you're asking about your health and conceiving in the future, you should consult a doctor. If you're asking about your spirituality, there isn't really an answer to that question. It depends on your personal faith and religion.
It sounds to me that the reason you may be asking this question is because you feel guilty about having an abortion or abortions. If that's the case, maybe you should ask yourself again if having an abortion is something that you feel is spiritually/morally acceptable. There may even be a larger, overshadowing question of whether you feel that you've been practicing safe sex in the past and in the present if you aren't ready to have a baby.

There are situations where abortions must be looked into would the mothers health/life be in any danger? If the mother could have the child - no complication - but would be unable to take care of child perhaps adoption would work?
If the mother is young talk to her parents they will be angry but if there is love they will help work things out! If at all possible let the child have the best chance of a healthy/ happy life it could have.

Honestly, I think one is too many. I cringe when someone says they've had "a few" because it seems like they may be using it as a form of birth control. I'm pro-choice but that doesn't mean I'm happy about women having abortions. It's always best to avoid elective medical procedures if possible.

I think abortion is acceptable if the baby has become a risk to the life of the mother. Other than this, I think one is too many.

One more than the number of abortions that is socially effecient. That number, of course, is dependent upon the economic and socialistic climate of the society. Goodnight everybody!
