There are really only four categories of food. Fats, proteins, carbs, and sugars. Carbs and sugars are all turned into a sugar the body can uses as fuel for the cells What is not used for energy is turned into fat. This fat is not to be confused with the fat you eat. Proteins and fats eaten can't be stored for later use by the body. The body get rid of what it can't use. Starches are one type of carbs. There are many more. Neither is bad when eaten in a healthy diet. The problem with low carb diets is that once your start eating carbs again the body quickly begins to store these surgars again in anticipaton of the next time it is not available. The weight comes back and comes back quickly.

Carbs can be taken from starch. Doctors say these are'nt bad. Carbs are the body's main source of energy, so they can't be bad, yeah? Maybe if taken excessively, but our body NEEDS them. Fruits and veggies are still the best sources for these, so if you're on diet don't even try cutting these out of your system. All a good and healthy life needs are exercise, good food, and good rest.

Starch is a form of carbohydrate. Surgar is a form of carbohydrate. Carbohydrates are not bad.
Everyone is looking for a magic way to loose weight. There have been tons of diets. The water diet, the protien diet, the no carb diet, etc. Now read this slowly so you really, really understand. There is no magic way to loose or gain weight. The only way to actually loose or gain weight is to watch your calorie intake and increase your exercise.
To loose 1 pound you need to take in 3500 calories LESS than you use. To gain a pound you have to take in 3500 extra calories. Exercise helps you both loose and gain weight becasue well toned muscles use calories more effecietnly than flab or poorly conditioned muscles. Exercise also helps regulate you appetite for loosing and gaining.
The most important aspect of a weight loose or gain program is a well balanced nutritious diet. If you are trying to loose weight and your diet is not nutritious and well balanced your body goes into starvation mode. A wonderful natrual deffense mechanism we possess where by in times of low food supply our body slows its metabolism ( the rate it burns energy) so our energy resources are conserved. Translation we burn fewer calories with the same amount of exercise. Crash diets like the no carb diet can actually make you keep your wieght or gain weight.
Of course if you are trying to gain weight the advice to eat a well balanced nutritiou diet needs no explination.
The truth is that largely your body does not care what kind of calries it get, fat, carb protien, if you take in too many calories you will gain wieght if you tak ein too few you will loose. Learning healty eatting habit will do much more for you than any fad diet. Or complicated comparison of the types of carbs and their effects on the body.

Carbs = cabohydrates.
The carbs are made up of 2 substances.viz. starch & sugar.
So starch is nothing but a form of carbs only.
And no, carbs are not bad --- provided they are taken in in moderate quantity..
We need carbs to give us energy to do our daily physical chores/work.

Carbs are simple surgars and starch are more complex sugars. our body can breakdown and absorb carbs easily but not starch. carbs are bad for the obivous reason that they are absorbed and can make you put on weight if taken excessively.

You are in need of some basic nutritional education. May I suggest that you buy a copy of "The PDR Family Guide to Nutrition and Health" published by Medical Economics.
Foods are divided into three classes- carbohydrates, fats and proteins. We NEED some of each for a balanced diet. Carbohydrates contain starches within the class. There is no classification for BAD or BADDER carbohydrates.
