I agree completely, but the problem is people aren't going to church anymore to worship God or give help to the weak and feeble. They want to receive,The phrase " it is more blessed to give than receive " has left the building for most people. They say they don't have to go to church to be saved, but if you are saved, Why wouldn't you want to go and worship God ? I would much rather spend sometime with some hypocrites in church than eternity with them in hell. Who knows, if I hold to the faith and provide a good witness I might even help one hypocrite find his way to God.

I worship God every day. In fact, the worship I do in the privacy of my own home feels more natural to me than in a group setting like Church. Maybe I've just not found a church that really fits me, but it seems to me that so little of the service is actually worship. It seems like there's just so many announcements and other "business."

Hebrews 10:25 (New Living Translation)
25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
I praise and worship daily. (Bible reading, praise music and prayer.) It's a daily walk...not just on Sunday or Wednesday evening. It's also a life time journey. I worship corporately (Church) and privately...at home, car...and I play praise music at work.
BTW...if you attend a boring church...it's time to find one that will fire you up...not keep you luke warm...or running cold.

There is no hard and fast rule that only the prayers from the church is heard by God. He is omnipresent. It is your unconditional love, open heartiness and a pure mind willing to pray for the good of everybody that makes your pray rewarding. In times of need this is the last thing that we are doing and the least is think of HIM every moment from where ever you are.

National health statistics pretty much indicate we're not going to the gym enough either. I'd put that higher on the list because it's got proven benefits. Church and prayer are pretty much a crap shoot (sure, there's community which is a plus - but not three times a week - and you can get community in the gym).

Ask your pastor why he doesn't teach about political issues from a Biblical perspective from the pulpit.
He'll tell you that because he has made the church a 501(c)(3) corporation, he has put Christ's church under the subjugation of the State and they are now his authority and lord.
That's not Christ's church, it's Caesar's church, and Caesar has removed it's testicles.
The Bible says that we should not forsake the gathering together with other Christians, it doesn't say I have to listen to some novice who doesn't understand how to follow Jesus.

Some people feel they have a personal relationship with God and that they don't need to go to church to prove anything to him or anyone else. Other people may just think it's boring and don't care enough to go.

you are SO misinformed if you believe you have to go to church to worship/speak to God.
church is nothing but a gathering place for the community, nothing more.
NO WHERE EVER does it state in a the bible that one must attend church to worship God, speak to God or anything in the like.
people don't go to church because of people like yourself who think they know all when they know nothing. they don't go cause most are thieves, child molesters, etc that have taken the position of ministers and how can a true believer follow such men?
do your own homework, own research and read some books....don't take what your church says at face value otherwise its nothing more than propaganda.

get a life. I'll start going to church when they have less money than I do. And 3 times a week is rtediculous. Most people have lives, you know! The only people who need to go to church that often are the kinds YOU don't want in YOURS!
