my son started walking when he was 11 months old and i was told this was somewhat early. I have heard of other bubs not walking until they were around 15/16 months. Every munchkin is different and they will do things in their own time. Lots of clapping and encouragement will go a long way to helping. Also, try giving him a reason to walk... like holding out a toy he loves or a special biscuit and getting him on his feet to walk to the object. There is probably nothing wrong with him and once he gets going he wont stop!!!

the final public of youngsters do no longer walk till twelve months. some teenagers do certainly walk in the previous, and a few do no longer walk till 13 or 14 months. each youngster is diverse. i would not be nervous that a 10 month previous won't manage to stroll. as long as he can flow slowly and arise while protecting onto some thing, then you shouldn't could complication approximately his leg progression good now. It sounds like he will walk very quickly, yet you have not got any reason to tension approximately it good now.

Every baby is different. I, myself, didn't start walking until I was 14 months, according to my parents. My son is 13 months and doesn't walk on his own yet. Sometimes if the child is rather tall for his age, his center of balance may be off. My father in law says that my brother in law just stood up one day and started walking.
Each child is different and develops at their own rate. I think your grandson should be fine.

My son started pulling himself up and walking around holding on to the tables when he was just 8 months. I totally thought he would walk by his first b-day. But he didn't. He didn't walk until he was 18 months! The doctor said every kid is different. Don't get discouraged!

Any day now...i babysit a one year and 2 week old girl who just started walking out of the blue one day. One day she was crawling and the next she was walking.
Dont worry...shes still on formula!! Its funnly how babies all do things differently, but all end up knowing how to walk, eat, drink, sleep the same!!

Both my kids walked at 15 mos!
There is no "timetable" for walking. Some babies walk at 9 mos., and others, like my kids, walk a bit later.
If he's crawling and walking w/support, it shouldn't be much longer 'til he takes the plunge.
Stop worrying. If his development's normal , then listen to the doctor. Just enjoy him because once they walk, it's all over (LOL).

I didn't walk until i was 18 months old. I am fine now. Not to worry. Some kids just walk sooner than others. If he is able to walk with support then eventually he will walk.
