No, They have a disclaimer. I understand how you feel though. I have use them a lot and there are times I wonder where they came up with these directions.

No. The map site provides you with the directions, it does not offer any evaluation of the roads. If you read a regular map and found yourself on a treacherous route, you could not sue the map publisher.

Unless you can prove it was done intentionally and knew that the route was dangerous. That way you can sue on grounds that they were negligent to continue to give out the bad directions. It would be a hard case to prove and probably wouldn't be worth it

such as turning the wrong way on a one way street? No, common sense and the posted disclaimer to obey all local laws is an overriding factor.
You couldn't get out of rear-ending someone just because they were going below the speed limit right?

My guess is that there is not, because I suspect that there's something on the web site that effectively says, "Use this map at your own risk." For instance, Mapquestion (http://www.mapquest.com) says under its "Legal" link:
"Your use of the website and Materials is at YOUR OWN RISK and MapQuest is under no obligation to provide you with any support, error corrections, updates, upgrades, bug fixes and/or enhancements of the website and Materials. "

No. When you use the web site you are normally using the opinion of several others.

Nope -- and I have a feeling you are referring to the man who died recently when he left his car to search for help. The map didn't kill him -- he left his car and exposure to the elements killed him. He made a sad, bad choice.
